Job summary

Federal Express Corporation invites a Senior Industrial Engineer to drive efficiency and cost reduction across operations. You will lead evaluation and implementation of manpower, systems, and corporate projects to cut expenses, raise revenues, and enhance customer service.

You will develop operating plans, model tools, and oversee budgets while coordinating with operations and corporate teams to implement innovative engineering concepts across FedEx’s global network.

Responsibilities

• Develop operating plans, conduct studies, and build models for engineers and operations.
• Lead transformation of business processes and operational tools to achieve global excellence.
• Prepare and monitor short- and long-range plans including expansion, new products, procedures, GSE, sort equipment, regulatory compliance, government agencies, and manpower needs.
• Develop plans for efficient package volume distribution to ensure optimum facility utilization.
• Lead projects to ensure suppliers and hired services comply with policies and FedEx requirements, with proper documentation.
• Monitor, analyze, and improve productivity, service, and cost performance.
• Lead special study teams to improve total corporate or operational productivity and performance.
• Conduct research and evaluate emerging technologies and management methodologies.
• Lead projects and studies including planning, priorities, and schedules for initiatives.
• Develop project plans, communication plans, and status updates for stakeholders.
• Create requirement specs, design, testing, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead studies to implement innovative engineering concepts for operations and customer solutions.
• Evaluate capital and expense requests and long-range budgets.

Job description

The Senior Industrial Engineer role involves leading the evaluation and implementation of manpower, systems, and corporate projects aimed at reducing operating expenses, increasing revenues, and enhancing customer service.

Essential Functions

• Developing and implementing operating plans, conducting studies, preparing data, and developing models and analytical tools for engineers and operations.
• Leading the transformation of business processes and operational tools to achieve global excellence.
• Preparing, analyzing, and monitoring short and long-range plans, including those related to expansion, new products, procedures, GSE, sort equipment, regulatory compliance, government agencies, and manpower needs.
• Developing plans for efficient package volume distribution to ensure optimum facility utilization
• Leading projects to ensure suppliers and hired professional services comply with policies, procedures, and governing authorities, and that all documentation adheres to FedEx requirements and processes
• Monitoring, analyzing, and recommending ways to improve productivity, service, and cost performance.
• Leading and serving on special study teams established to investigate and implement projects related to improving total corporate or operational productivity and performance.
• Conducting research, evaluation, and recommendations of emerging technologies, business and management techniques, philosophies, and methodologies.
• Leading projects and studies in support of objectives, including planning and organizing task assignments, priorities, schedules, and activities for initiatives.
• Developing project plans, communication plans, and project status updates for stakeholders
• Creating requirement specifications, solution design, system development and testing, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Leading studies to implement innovative engineering concepts into operations, systems, and customer solutions to benefit FedEx and its customers.
• Evaluating capital and expense requests, as well as annual and long-range budget processes.
• Developing project and operational budgets based on recommendations for cost savings.
• Collecting, analyzing, and reporting on financial and operational indicators for corporate and departmental initiatives.
• Preparing and presenting business justifications to support funding approval processes.
• Designing and delivering technical training to personnel through workshops, seminars, and one-on-one sessions in areas such as operations, manning, contingency planning, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. -
• Facilitating communication between operations and corporate departments to provide technical and local expertise related to corporate or department initiatives and operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Education

BS degree in industrial engineering or a related field required. ,

Minimum Experience

Five (5) years of relevant experience required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong engineering and analytical skills

Strong systems and computer knowledge

Strong communication skills, inluding presentation skills, are essential.

Ability to create operating and budgetary plans and implement

Knowledge to create business and operational tools

Ability to develop models for engineers and operations

Project development and project leadership skills required

Ability to develop and lead technical training

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer degree in industrial eng. Warehouse automation experience preferred
