Farnsworth Group is seeking a Sr. Electrical Project Engineer - Energy & Utilities in one of the below posting locations. In this role, you will assume multi-project responsibilities for full Electrical design, including Power Distribution, Controls, Renewable Energy Systems, Medium Voltage Systems, Substations, Lighting, and Communications for Oil & Gas, Industrial, Advanced Manufacturing, and Renewable Energy markets.

Job Activities:
- Assume multi-project responsibilities for full Electrical design, including Power distribution, Lighting, Telecommunications, Controls, Renewable Energy Systems, and electrical MV systems design for industrial and oil and gas markets.
- Actively manage day-to-day planning, staffing, and execution of large, complex projects assigned to the department.
- Engage in and assume responsibility for:
- Code familiarity, research, and application
- Fieldwork to ascertain existing conditions
- Preliminary schematics through final designs
- Calculations
- Equipment specification, sizing, and layout
- Preparation of accurate Electrical system construction drawings and specifications
- Quality Control for team deliverables
- Budgeting and financial tracking throughout different phases of project execution
- Coordination with other production staff
- Submittal review and construction administration.
- Interface with other disciplines, clients, and contractors.
- Maintain project design budgets and schedules while ensuring quality and meeting deadlines.
- This position involves significant client contact and responsibility for developing client relationships and business development.
- Assign responsibilities, mentor engineers, designers, and drafters.
- Report to an engineering manager, who will also provide mentoring and training opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
Specific Requirements include:
- Electrical engineer with 15+ years of experience in technically complex system design.
- BS in Electrical Engineering. Professional Engineer License (PE) is required.
- Wide range of design experience, including industrial power distribution, controls, and MV systems.
- Effective and diplomatic communication skills, ability to work on multiple projects.
- Ability to solve complex power engineering problems.
- Experience in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of codes and standards related to electrical power, including NEC, NESC, and IEEE Standards.
- Ability to pass background checks and comply with immunization requirements for client site access.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to client sites.
- NCEES Record holder preferred.
- Knowledge of Navisworks, SKM PowerTools, or ETap preferred.
