Job Details

We're looking for a results-driven Senior Electrical Estimator to lead complex commercial project estimates and guide a high-performing team in the Phoenix area. This role plays a critical part in shaping competitive bids and supporting strategic growth across the business.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the electrical estimating process—from conceptual budgeting to final bid submission—ensuring estimates are both timely and accurate.
• Build early-stage project budgets based on limited information to help guide project feasibility and decision-making.
• Review evolving construction documents to identify scope changes and offer value-engineering solutions that support client goals.
• Lead improvements to the internal estimating systems and workflows, utilizing tools like ConEst or similar platforms.
• Mentor and develop junior estimators, encouraging accountability and high standards within the department.
• Oversee all bid preparation efforts, ensuring alignment with project strategy, company targets, and client expectations.
• Monitor and track bid activity, analyze hit rates, and continuously refine processes for maximum efficiency and success.
• Collaborate closely with subcontractors, vendors, and trade partners throughout the bidding and preconstruction phases.
• Work hand-in-hand with operations teams to provide change order pricing and ensure seamless project handoffs.
• Cultivate lasting relationships with clients and partners, fostering trust and repeat opportunities.
• Maintain and grow a historical cost database to enhance future bid accuracy and project planning.
• Gather and analyze bid metrics, supporting continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.
  
  

Preferred Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial electrical estimating experience, ideally on projects over $1M.
• Demonstrated success leading and mentoring teams in a fast-paced estimating environment.
• In-depth understanding of electrical systems, construction documents, and industry best practices.
• Proficiency with estimating platforms (ConEst preferred), and solid skills in MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Working knowledge of Bluebeam and other construction tech is a plus.
• A relationship-first mindset with a drive to grow partnerships and repeat business.
