Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Permanent Electrical Estimator for Substations in a direct-hire role. The position offers a salary range of $140,000 to $200,000 per year with company-paid benefits and travel involved.

Essential work includes preparing estimates for substations, reviewing drawings, ensuring code compliance, and submitting competitive bids. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in electrical estimating for substations, proficiency in Accubid and EBM, and strong blueprint-reading

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical estimating experience focused on substations and/or transmission and MV/HV utility projects.
• Proficiency in Accubid and EBM estimating software.
• Deep understanding of electrical code compliance.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proven ability to prepare accurate cost estimates and proposals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates for electrical substation, transmission, and BESS construction projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
• Review blueprints, plans and specs to understand scope and determine requirements.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes and regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to gather information for estimates.
• Prepare and submit competitive proposals and bids to secure new projects.
• Utilize Accubid and EBM software to improve accuracy and efficiency of estimates.

Job Details

1. Preparing cost estimates for electrical substation, transmission, and battery energy storage system (BESS) construction projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
2. Reviewing and interpreting blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand the scope of work and to determine project requirements.
3. Ensuring compliance with all relevant electrical codes and regulations.
4. Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and contractors to gather detailed information for estimates.
5. Preparing and submitting competitive proposals and bids to secure new projects.
6. Utilizing Accubid and EBM software to improve the accuracy and efficiency of estimates.

Qualifications

1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical estimating, with a focus on substations and/or transmission and/or MV/HM utility projects.
2. Proficiency in Accubid and EBM estimating software.
3. An in-depth understanding of electrical code compliance.
4. Exceptional skills in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
5. Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate cost estimates and proposals.
