Job summary

Milwaukee Tool seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead a small team addressing charger production and warranty issues, optimize product cost, and develop supply chain/global manufacturing footprint strategy.

You will design and test power electronics, work with lab equipment, and collaborate across functions. Requires 6+ years in power electronics, a BS in EE, and 10% travel.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in power electronics or mixed-signal hardware design.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time (domestic and international).

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of electrical engineers and manage mass production charger support.
  • Resolve urgent production and quality issues by root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Lead design changes and integration of alternate components into existing products.
  • Use lab equipment (oscilloscopes, analyzers) to debug and develop designs.
  • Develop cost-optimization ideas for future projects.
  • Own design activities from schematic capture to prototype builds and tests.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on deviations and supplier changes.
  • Contribute to tooling, processes, and team capability improvements.

Milwaukee Tool’s Value Engineering / Product Support Engineering function focuses on providing support to charger production lines to ensure on-time delivery and high yield. This Senior Electrical Engineer role will lead a small team to address charger production and warranty issues, optimize product cost, as well as develop supply chain and global manufacturing footprint strategy.

Duties and responsibilities

You’ll also be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of electrical engineers and manage the overall product support of mass production chargers.
  • Resolve urgent production and quality issues by performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective action, while keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
  • Lead the team to validate alternate components and embedded / power electronics circuit changes and support their integration into existing products.
  • Use laboratory equipment to debug and develop your design with oscilloscopes, power analyzer, Bode analyzer, data acquisition systems, ESD, EMC, and circuit simulation software.
  • Develop a pipeline of cost optimization ideas for future project needs.
  • Lead the team to own design activities including component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout, prototype builds, and test plan development.
  • Drive trade-off discussions and gain alignment with cross-functional teams on mass production deviation, quality issue resolution, and proposed changes by suppliers.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering and manufacturing tools, processes, and team capability as the product portfolio and organization scale.
What tools you’ll bring with you
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in power electronics or mixed-signal hardware design.
  • Fundamental understanding of lithium‑ion battery charging principles and associated power conversion interfaces.
  • Fundamental understanding of switching power supply topologies, magnetics, and power device selection.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and develop a team of electrical engineers.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and works well under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time (domestic and international).
