Job summary

NLB Services in Addison, TX is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer specializing in schematic capture and PCB design to drive hardware development across full product lifecycles.

You will design analog, digital and mixed-signal circuits, create multi-layer PCB layouts, verify designs, and produce technical documentation and test reports while collaborating with ME, manufacturing and test teams to ensure robust, manufacturable solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/ Electronics engineering required.
  • 5+ years of hardware design experience.
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Cadence Allegro/OrCAD.
  • Experience with multi-layer PCB design and signal integrity.
  • Knowledge of analog, digital and mixed-signal circuit design.
  • Strong understanding of PCB manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Experience with test equipment including Logic Analyzers, DMMs and Power Supplies.
  • Ability to produce and review technical documentation and engineering reports.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electronic circuit design and schematic capture for analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power circuits.
  • Develop PCB layouts ensuring compliance with electrical, thermal, EMC/EMI, manufacturability and reliability requirements.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing and test engineering teams.
  • Perform component selection, derating analysis and obsolescence reviews.
  • Support design reviews and implement engineering changes.
  • Develop and execute hardware verification and validation activities.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including drawings, test procedures and reports.
  • Support prototype builds, debugging, board bring-up and root cause analysis.
  • Work with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure successful realization.
  • Participate in requirements analysis, risk assessments and design verification.
  • Ensure compliance with industry and customer standards.

Sr. Electrical Engineer - Schematic Capture & PCB Design
Location: Addison, Tx (Onsite)
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform electronic circuit design and schematic capture for analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronic circuits.
  • Develop PCB layouts ensuring compliance with electrical, thermal, EMC/EMI, manufacturability, and reliability requirements.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineering teams to achieve robust product designs.
  • Perform component selection, derating analysis, and obsolescence reviews.
  • Support design reviews and implement engineering changes based on review feedback.
  • Develop and execute hardware verification and validation activities.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including:
    • Product drawings
    • Test procedures
    • Qualification test plans
    • Qualification test reports
    • Test summary reports
  • Support prototype builds, debugging, board bring-up, and root cause analysis of hardware issues.
  • Work closely with suppliers, fabrication houses, and contract manufacturers to ensure successful product realization.
  • Participate in requirements analysis, risk assessments, and design verification activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry and customer standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in electronic hardware design and development.
  • Strong experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as:
    • Cadence Allegro/OrCAD
  • Experience with multi-layer PCB design and signal integrity considerations.
  • Knowledge of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design.
  • Strong understanding of PCB manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Experience using laboratory equipment including:
    • Logic Analyzers
    • Digital Multimeters
    • Power Supplies
  • Ability to produce and review technical documentation and engineering reports.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
