Headhunter/ Executive Search Expert - Manager, Power and Renewables
Senior Electrical Engineer

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in electrical design and specifications, EPC tendering, and an interest in the infrastructure sector, particularly in renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering and technical support for construction projects, including preparing technical specifications for electrical works, specifying electrical equipment, preparing EPC tender packages for solar PV, wind, and battery projects, and assisting in EPC bid evaluations.
- Develop detailed scope of works for engineering firms, assist in procurement of engineering services, and ensure appropriate supervision of engineering firms and consultants regarding the quality of engineering deliverables.
- Review RFIs from contractors, prepare responses in coordination with the project team and retained engineering firms.
- Review contractors’ electrical drawings, technical queries, and provide comments/approvals in coordination with the project team.
- Review electrical drawings and studies prepared by third-party engineering firms, provide comments or approvals based on scope and budget.
- Witness electrical equipment factory acceptance testing and provide technical input, comments, or approvals before shipping equipment to site.
- Assist in site acceptance testing and develop quality control procedures for engineering and electrical systems testing for solar PV, wind, and battery projects.
- Provide engineering support, including management of technical documentation (shop drawings, test results, etc.), engineering work planning, coordination with sub-contractors and equipment suppliers, and preparing project close-out documentation including operations and maintenance procedures.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders as needed (regulatory agencies, landowners, equipment suppliers, engineering consultants, etc.)
- Provide technical support including conducting calculations, undertaking research, providing results, and developing viable solutions.
- Develop engineering quality procedures related to early engineering stages, construction, commissioning, and start-up, including electrical equipment FATs.
- Assist in developing procedures and technical programs during early engineering phases, including electrical safety for operations teams, to ensure accountability and proper implementation during construction.
- Assist in project acquisition due diligence by reviewing and evaluating project technical documentation.
- Prepare minutes of meetings with contractors, suppliers, engineering firms, and stakeholders as needed.
- Assist in technical preparation of purchase orders for engineering firms and electrical equipment vendors.
- Assist the Project Manager in preparing presentations and engineering updates for meetings.
- Identify operational improvements using analytical thinking and innovative tools.
- Assist in project costing, EPC proposal evaluation, including technical, financial, and schedule compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of renewable energy experience.
- PE license is not required but an asset.
- Strong background in electrical design, including cable sizing, electrical studies, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Experience in large-scale solar PV, wind, and battery projects preferred.
- Knowledge/experience with substations and switching stations is an asset.
- Experience with E-House and SCADA design is an asset.
- Experience with PV Syst, simulations, and layout preparations in accordance with regulations is an asset.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated work ethic, positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work independently and in teams.
- Attention to detail and quality mindset.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Project, Excel, and Outlook.
- Good planning and time management skills.
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
