HotFoot Recruiters is hiring a Sr. Electrical Engineer / Principal PE for a well-established MEP consulting engineering firm in Phoenix, AZ. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced Electrical PE who wants more than a standard design role. Location: Phoenix, AZ
Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM–5:30 PM; Friday half day
Pay: $165K+ DOE
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design and coordination for complex commercial, institutional, healthcare, government, education, aviation, and advanced technology projects
- Serve as the technical lead for electrical systems, code compliance, documentation, and QA/QC
- Develop and review basis-of-design narratives, engineering calculations, specifications, and construction documents
- Oversee design of power distribution, lighting/controls, fire alarm, emergency power, HVAC coordination, and specialty systems
- Act as a client-facing technical contact throughout design and construction phases
- Mentor engineers, designers, modelers, and EITs
- Support project scopes, proposals, pursuit strategy, and client relationship development
- Review RFIs, submittals, field issues, and construction administration items
- Help improve internal standards, workflows, and technical best practices
Qualifications
- Active Arizona PE license required
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- 15+ years of electrical engineering design experience, preferably in MEP consulting / building systems
- Strong experience leading complex projects and multidisciplinary teams
- Technical expertise in:
- Power distribution
- Lighting and lighting controls
- Fire alarm systems
- Emergency power systems
- HVAC equipment coordination
- Specialty equipment integration
- Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IECC, IBC, LEED, and applicable building codes
- Proficient with Revit, AutoCAD, COMcheck, Excel, Word, OneNote, and related tools
- Strong client communication, leadership, and mentoring skills
- High ownership mindset with ability to lead projects with minimal oversight
