Job Description: Sr. Electrical Engineer, NPIBloom Energy, a solid oxide fuel cell company, is looking for a Sr. Electrical Engineer, NPI to join its world class team. This individual should be a dynamic professional who is looking for a rewarding future in one of today’s most exciting technologies.Location: This position will be based in Fremont, CA and will involve 25% traveling.Role and Responsibilities:Manage new NPI Project transfers to Bloom Manufacturing and CM’s.Ability to communicate clearly & professionally within the team and also with external vendors.Develop interconnect wiring diagrams/schematics, wire harness drawings, and test proceduresAbility to lead electrical team.Failure analysis of electrical components and preventative or corrective actionPanel layout and prototypingDevelop Work InstructionsDevelop, and/or work with suppliers to generate test requirements, test fixtures and test softwareDevelop and manage BOMs, ECNs, DeviationsWork within the development team to ensure design for manufacturabilityDevelop test equipment from concept to commissioningTrain manufacturing personnel on test process, test equipment, and test softwareSkills and Experience:2+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering or New Product Introduction. The candidate will have worked in oil and gas, energy and power, pharmaceutical production, chemical processing, large capital equipment, or related industry. Knowledge of fuel cell systems is a plus but is not requiredExperience developing schematics and wire harness CAD (using AutoCAD)Ability to independently manage projectsExperience in rapid scale up of a new products.Understanding of analog and digital circuits, power devices, magnetics, control systems, switchgear, test equipment and instrumentationHands-on experience testing and troubleshooting high power, high voltage equipment in a laboratory environmentExperienced in development of test equipment which include electro-mechanical assemblies (e.g.: mass & air flow sensors, DC-DC converters)Excellent hands-on bench/lab skills working with electrical components (PCB, high voltage components, wiring interconnects, and digital/analog I/O)Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to work independently in a fast paced start up environmentBS or MS in Electrical Engineering or related disciplineKnowledge of Mechanical Assemblies a plus.About Bloom Energy:Bloom Energy will make clean, reliable energy affordable for everyone in the world.
