Job summary

Arthrex, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer I - Product Development to lead electrical design for an imaging and resection team. This role owns the electrical architecture from concept through launch of a ground-breaking electro-mechanical medical device with disruptive technology.

We expect 5 years of electrical engineering experience, a BS in EE, and preferred MS. Travel to customers and trade shows may be required. Join a global leader delivering surgical solutions and education.

Qualifications

• 5 years of professional electrical engineering experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• Experience designing electronic sub-systems, layouts, and testing.

Responsibilities

• Designs electronic sub-systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.
• Leads electrical design for multifunctional new product project teams through feasibility analysis, planning, execution, and budget adherence.
• Provides design history file support and regulatory electrical input for projects.
• Supports marketing, training, and manufacturing with electrical technical information.
• Determines necessity of electrical testing and initiates testing of assigned products.

Sr. Electrical Engineer I - Product Development - I&R

We are actively searching for a Sr. Engineer I (Electrical) - Product Development to support the Imaging and Resection team. This individual has the opportunity to join a high growth potential team at an early stage to influence the technology selection and will be responsible for and own the electrical architecture from concept through launch of one of a kind electro-mechanical medical device with market disruption technologies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Designs electronic sub-systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.
• Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
• Determines budgets and timelines for assigned projects.
• Leads electrical design for multifunctional new product project teams, as assigned by Engineering Manager, through project technical feasibility analysis, initiation, planning, execution, and termination, adhering closely to project timeline and budget.
• Provides design history file support for assigned projects, adhering to Arthrex design control procedures.
• Provides Regulatory department with technical electrical support for assigned projects as needed.
• Supports Marketing and Product Management with electrical technical information to be used for training and marketing of assigned products.
• Supports Manufacturing to provide processing improvements.
• Supports surgeon and distributor customers by training and/or educating on electrical technical aspects of assigned products as needed.
• Determines necessity of electrical testing and initiates testing of assigned products
• Reports on progress and status of assigned projects on a timely basis.
• May be required travel to attend trade shows and visit established accounts as well as prospective accounts. International travel may be required.

Knowledge

• Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards. Full knowledge of industry practices.

Skills

• Proficiency in designing products using Schematic Capture and Layout tools. Altium experience preferable.
• Solidworks and/or Creo experience preferred.
• Electronic and Electronic Systems Manufacturing process knowledge preferred.
• Experience working in fluid or vacuum systems preferred.
• Project management and communication skills training preferred.
• Technical knowledge in development methodologies, design, and project implementation.
• Experience in the Design, layout, simulate, procure, and bring-up/debug/test PBC boards including digital circuits, analog circuits, and mixed-signal circuits (high speed and DDR experience & knowledge preferred).

Education / Experience

• 5 years of professional experience excluding academic coursework or interships required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Master's Degree preferred.
