This role is part of Enterprise Engineering's (EE), where we provide technical standards, tools, processes, training, and subject matter expertise for product engineering and manufacturing. EPM allows all Blue Origin business units to benefit from commonly used capabilities, hardware, and software and assists business units in identifying, selecting, and training engineers from both inside and outside the organization. This particular role is in EE's Avionics Center of Excellence.

This position is in Blue Origin’s Avionics Center of Excellence – as part of a diverse avionics team, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers to deliver avionics hardware subsystem elements, including common circuit blocks and development kits. You will design, develop, and verify high-performance avionics hardware for incorporation into various flight vehicles. Your responsibilities will encompass electronic requirements, architecture concepts, detailed design, development, and testing.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • 10+ proven years of experience in the design of complex hardware
  • Skilled Altium user

One or more of the following:

  • High-speed digital, analog, and/or mixed-signal circuit design, build, and troubleshooting, with a strong understanding of EE principles
  • Circuit analysis and simulation, such as worst-case circuit analysis, signal integrity analysis, and logic or Spice simulation
  • Grounding and general board layout principles, including EMI/EMC tradeoffs
  • Batter y-based power systems, including power management, power switching, charging, and battery safety
  • Computer command and I/O control for sophisticated industrial systems or vehicles
  • RF communication subsystem and/or component design, with a strong background in RF principles
  • Design of Data Acquisition Systems and familiarity with various sensor technologies
  • Background developing sophisticated circuit cards, consumer electronics, wireless devices, or other advanced electronic commercial or aerospace products
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to our inclusive culture
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

  • Master of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Physics, or related areas
  • 15+ years proven experience in design, development, integration, test, and operation of avionics systems or vehicles

Compensation Range for:

CA applicants is $152,235.00-$213,127.95;CO applicants is $139,979.00-$195,969.90;WA applicants is $152,235.00-$213,127.95
