Job summary

A leading technology company in Wilmington, MA is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design and analyze high voltage AC-DC and DC-DC products. The ideal candidate will possess a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering and at least five years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include diagnosing design issues, following key engineering procedures, and ensuring product success in customer applications. Position Summary

Performs engineering work in applied research, design, development, and documentation on multiple key projects. Uses research techniques to analyze and validate design or theory concepts. Interacts with senior level professionals both internal and external to AE.

Responsibilities
  • Designs and analyzes AC-DC and DC-DC high voltage module products and subsystems/circuits primarily up to 60kV and 500W to specification, cost, budget, schedule, and quality goals
  • Diagnoses issues of diverse scope with design, field performance, reliability and test yields of products and recommends and implements corrective actions to address
  • Assumes responsibility for the success of the product in customers’ applications and recommends corrective actions as needed
  • Follows key engineering procedures including the Product Development Process and ECO process
Work Environment
  • Location: Wilmington, MA
  • Office environment utilizing standard office equipment and engineering lab equipment
  • May be required to travel up to 10% of the time including international and/or domestic travel to remote sites, customers, and vendors
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of operational amplifiers
  • Familiarity with power supplies
  • Knowledge of analog circuit design
  • Firmware experience is a plus
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgement in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions
  • Proven professional skills as an experienced electrical engineer with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies/procedures
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision with general instructions on new assignments
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems independently
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Good interpersonal skills to work as part of a team
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with others in complex situations
Experience
  • Minimum of five years of experience as an electrical engineer
  • Experience identifying and selecting safety-critical components related to engineering change order activities
Education
  • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering is required
Compensation

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $125,000 to $140,000 per year.
