Job summary

Varex Imaging Corporation seeks a Sr. Electrical Engineer to design and analyze electrical systems and packaging for its charged particle accelerator power trains. You will conduct feasibility studies, tests, and support prototype fabrication, guiding a hands-on, process-driven team.

The role requires expertise with high voltage power supplies (up to 30 kV) and pulsed power modulators, plus familiarity with charged particle accelerators, SAP/PLM, and change-control processes.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering required.
• 7+ years of related experience.
• Experience with high voltage power supplies up to 30 kV and pulsed power modulators (line type and solid state).
• Familiar with charged particle accelerators, SAP, PLM, engineering change processes, revision control.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze electrical systems, equipment, and packaging for power trains.
• Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs.
• Direct support to personnel in detailed design, testing, and prototype fabrication.
• Be hands-on, analytic, and process-oriented.

Sr. Electrical Engineer

Varex is seeking to expand its capabilities in designing power trains for its line of charged particle accelerators. The successful candidate will design and analyze electrical systems, equipment, and packaging. The individual will conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs as well as direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, testing, and prototype fabrication. The successful candidate will be hands on and analytic, as well as process oriented.

Required Core Competencies:

• High Voltage (up to 30 kV) power supplies
• Pulsed Power Modulators, both line type and solid state

Familiarity with:

• Charged Particle Accelerators.
• SAP
• Product Life Cycle Management.
• Engineering Change processes, revision control, and configuration management.

Highly Desired Skills:

• Modulator design and operation
• Experience with both magnetron-based and klystron-based systems
• Experience with designing and running high-power klystron-based systems

Desired Education:

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering
• 7+ years of related experience
