Job summary

Textron is seeking a Sr Elec Eng Tech for their Uncrewed Land & Air business area in Maryland. The successful candidate will maintain unmanned systems and troubleshoot electronic systems. A strong electrical aptitude and communication skills are essential.

Job description

Sr Elec Eng Tech

This role is in Textron System’s Uncrewed Land & Air business area.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate unmanned systems and support equipment.
• Troubleshoot electronic and general electrical systems.
• Assist engineers and designers with prototype development and testing.
• Support offsite testing and demonstrations.
• Actively perform lab maintenance, safety audits, and material tracking.
• Use small hand tools such as soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers and pliers.
• Identify and document work order instruction or drawing errors.
• Maintain logbooks and records.
• Strong ability to interpret drawings and schematics.
• This position does not directly provide leadership or supervision.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree preferred or related technical training and 2 or more years of experience.
• Basic knowledge of procedures and technical theory in assigned product areas.
• General electrical aptitude and the ability to be certified in IPC standards.
• Willing to travel up to 25% with international travel possible.
• Basic computer skills such as word processing, spreadsheets, database & technical drawing packages.
• Able to organize and set up test with minimal guidance.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET level security clearance.
• Must be a team player and able to work with minimum supervision.
• Unmanned systems knowledge/experience preferred.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to work extended hours to meet program goals.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasking.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
• Ability to work on naval vessels.
• Ability to work in tight quarters and confined spaces.
• Working knowledge of military specifications is a plus.
