Textron Systems in Maryland is seeking a Sr Electrical Engineering Technician to support electrical design, integration, and testing on a range of platforms including unmanned systems and surface vessels. Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in electronic/electrical/engineering technology preferred, and 3+ years of experience.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to confidently use a Fluke DVM.
  • Willing to travel up to 50% with international travel possible.
  • Boater Safety Course a plus.
  • Boating experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain SECRET level security clearance.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • General electrical aptitude and IPC standards certification desirable.

Responsibilities

Provideelectrical support for the design, integration, and maintenance of electrical systems on a variety of technologies, ranging from land robotics to uncrewed surface vessels for military programs in a fast-paced environment. These systems are experimental and cutting-edge technological advancements that are intended to protect the warfighter in various theaters. This individual will have an opportunity to travel, execute experimental military and civil hardware testing, and grow in their role. The position involves supporting lab operations of component integration, modifications, assembly and test, of ground vehicles, air vehicles, and surface vessels. Individuals must be willing to support remote test sites to include serving as a boat operator, safety lookout, as well as maintenance crew member during field testing. Individuals must be able to work from assembly documentation (i.e. work instructions, drawings etc.), parts lists, and diagrams to assemble, wire and install a wide variety of components. May assemble by hand or operate semiautomatic assembly equipment. Operates electronic and mechanical test equipment.

  • Working knowledge of military specifications is a plus
