Job summary

Guerbet is seeking a Sr. EHS Specialist for the Raleigh CMDS Plant to develop and administer environmental, health and safety programs, ensuring regulatory compliance and corporate expectations. You will support plant operations, audits, and training while addressing day-to-day EHS needs.

The role requires 3–5 years in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, or environmental science, with knowledge of OSHA/EPA regulations and GMP familiarity a plus. This position is based on-site in Raleigh, NC.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years’ experience in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, and/or environmental science.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Sr. EHS Specialist is responsible for developing, maintaining, and administering the programs and procedures related to the health, safety, and environment of the Raleigh CMDS Plant. The Sr. EHS Specialist will support plant EHS programs, including meeting regulatory requirements and corporate expectations. The Sr. EHS Specialist will also focus on tactical issues and day-to-day plant needs.

YOUR ROLE
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and administer environmental, health and safety programs as needed.
  • Support applicable corporate, plant, and regulatory reports and requirements as needed.
  • Provide assistance as an internal resource to plant departments on EHS issues as needed.
  • Participate in plant audits and equipment evaluations for EHS compliance.
  • Provide training assistance to communicate and ensure compliance with plant EHS programs and policies.
  • Inspect and review plant operations to recommend corrective actions where safety, health, and environmental hazards and risks exist.
  • Actively participates and provides oversight to the plant's emergency response teams.
  • Create, review, and update standard operating procedures related to EHS
  • Serve as the plant EHS committee facilitator.
  • Administer the safety shoe and prescription safety glasses programs.
  • Administer the waste disposal program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management
Department Specific/Non-Essential Functions:
  • Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment.
  • Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk.
  • Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management
YOUR BACKGROUND
Education, Experience, and/or Skill:
  • BS degree in physical or biological science or engineering
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, and/or environmental science.
  • Possess working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations. Knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices and experience working in a manufacturing environment are a plus
  • Competency in use of windows-based computer systems.
Physical Requirements:
  • Occasion lifting of less than 25 lbs. may be required for moving/carrying monitoring instruments.
  • Extended periods of standing and/or sitting may be required.
  • Must be physically able to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) in areas of plant where it is required

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication
