Job summary

A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Senior Echocardiographic Technician to perform a variety of echocardiographic studies under the supervision of medical personnel. Candidates must have at least three years of experience, appropriate ARDMS certification, and strong interpersonal skills. This role is vital for ensuring accurate diagnostic imaging and maintaining patient records.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of adult or pediatric/fetal echo tech experience.
  • BLS Card from AHA or ARC required.
  • Successful completion of a cardiac echocardiography technology program.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all 2-dimensional, M-mode, and Doppler studies.
  • Notify physicians for urgent echo readings and maintain studies records.
  • Prepare preliminary interpretations and perform other duties as assigned.

Skills

Job description

Description

Under the supervision of the UCLA Cardiac Imaging Medical Director, Operations Director, Manager, and Supervisor, the Senior Echocardiographic Technician performs all 2-dimensional, M-mode, and Doppler studies, including Stress echocardiogram, Pharmacological stress echocardiogram, and Transesophageal echocardiograms. The technician must have at least three years of direct cardiac sonographer experience and be registered through the American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in adult echocardiography (AE) RDCS or pediatric echocardiography (PE) RDCS. The technician notifies (by pager) Cardiac Imaging Physicians for any urgent, STAT, and/or pre-operative echo readings, prepares preliminary interpretations, and maintains records pertinent to echo studies. Performs other duties as assigned by UCLA Cardiac Imaging Physicians, Manager, and Supervisor.

Salary Range: $58.53-$77.26/hourly

Qualifications

Required:

  • Adult: ARDMS-RDCS (AE)
  • Pediatrics: ARDMS-RDCS (PE)
  • At least 3 years of adult or pediatric/fetal echo tech experience

  • Successful completion of a cardiac echocardiography technology program
  • Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
  • Ability to apply ultrasound techniques in clinical evaluations
  • Ability to operate the echo machine and manipulate transducer for optimal studies
  • Proficiency with PC and word processing software for reports
  • Ability to make preliminary evaluations and generate reports
  • Ability to maintain logs, track charges, and ensure billing accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks timely
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication
  • Ability to interpret physician orders and follow instructions
  • Ability to deliver basic cardiac life support (BCLS)
