TheSenior Director of Strategy for USA TODAY and National Productsis a pivotal role responsible for spearheading strategic initiatives that drive growth and elevate the market presence of USA TODAY and its national products. This dynamic position involves leading efforts to grow profitable revenue, volume, and lifetime value across national and newly developed national media brands within the USA TODAY Network. A key aspect of this role is collaborating closely with the news division to ensure alignment and synergy between strategic initiatives and editorial content. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in crafting and executing strategic initiatives, as well as promoting diverse product portfolios. Base Salary: $130,000 - $150,000 annually

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning:Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to drive growth and market share for USA Today and national products leading to profitable revenue growth.
  • Market Analysis:Conduct in-depth research and competitive analysis to inform strategic decisions.
  • Product Development:Collaborate with product teams to innovate and enhance product offerings, ensuring they meet market demands and consumer needs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with marketing, sales, news, product, and other departments to align strategies with business objectives.
  • Performance Metrics:Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of strategic initiatives.
  • Innovation:Identify and capitalize on new opportunities to enhance the brand presence and competitiveness of USA Today and national products.
  • Leadership:Lead and mentor a team of strategy professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Budget Management:Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively to support strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Education:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience:10+ years of extensive experience in strategic planning, product development, or related roles, with a proven track record of driving growth and market presence.
  • Skills:Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and leadership skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge:Deep understanding of market dynamics, consumer behavior, and competitive analysis.

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $130,000 to $150,000. Base compensation is reflective of many factors, including, but not limited to, the market in which one lives/works, individual education level, skills, certifications, and experience. Note: variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable
