Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Director, Sales Operations based in United States.

This is a senior leadership opportunity to build and scale a modern, data-driven Sales Operations function within a high-growth environment.

You will establish the operating discipline, systems, reporting, and processes that enable a more predictable and efficient sales engine.

Working closely with Sales, Finance, Marketing Operations, Business Operations, Enablement, Business Intelligence, and executive leadership, you will turn complex data into clear business decisions.

The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution across forecasting, pipeline management, bookings, reporting, analytics, and sales productivity.

You will create trusted KPI frameworks, scalable dashboards, and operating cadences that support frontline teams as well as executive and board-level decision-making.

You will also identify opportunities to leverage automation and artificial intelligence to improve reporting, workflows, analysis, and decision speed.

This role is ideal for an experienced operator who thrives on creating structure from ambiguity, driving transformation, and building capabilities that scale.

Accountabilities

  • Establish a consistent operating rhythm for forecasting, pipeline inspection, deal reviews, bookings management, manager actions, quarterly business reviews, and executive reporting.

  • Partner with Sales leaders and managers to strengthen pipeline hygiene, stage discipline, forecast accuracy, documented next steps, and deal-risk management.

  • Own the Sales reporting roadmap across pipeline health, funnel conversion, forecast accuracy, activity, productivity, revenue quality, and go-to-market efficiency.

  • Build and continuously improve dashboards and reporting views for sales representatives, managers, senior revenue leadership, executives, and board-level stakeholders.

  • Personally create, validate, and refine reporting models and interim analytical solutions while longer-term dashboarding and data capabilities are developed.

  • Establish clear KPI definitions, ownership, data sources, quality controls, and governed reporting environments across Salesforce, Tableau, Gong, spreadsheets, and related platforms.

  • Lead the operational response to bookings accuracy, including definitions and process controls for new business, expansion, cross-sell, win-back, and debooking scenarios.

  • Build the historical data foundation required to understand seasonality, conversion, pipeline requirements, forecasting behavior, and sales performance.

  • Partner with Finance on forecast validation, bookings reconciliation, historical data analysis, and shared business definitions.

  • Evaluate and implement automation and artificial intelligence opportunities that improve reporting, analysis, workflow execution, and decision-making speed while maintaining appropriate governance.

  • Manage the Sales Operations portfolio by clearly distinguishing completed work, current priorities, future opportunities, and initiatives that should be deferred.

  • Make disciplined prioritization decisions based on revenue impact, risk reduction, time to value, effort, dependencies, and available capacity.

  • Build a repeatable forecast and pipeline operating cadence that Sales leaders and managers consistently adopt.

  • Develop a trusted KPI framework with clear ownership, standardized definitions, and reliable sources of truth for core sales metrics.

  • Improve visibility into pipeline coverage, created pipeline, pacing, forecast accuracy, bookings accuracy, funnel conversion, productivity, and revenue quality.

  • Develop a prioritized roadmap covering adoption, interim reporting solutions, new capabilities, data and Salesforce improvements, and appropriately deferred work.

  • Strengthen documentation, ownership, team capabilities, and operating standards so the function can support both day-to-day execution and longer-term transformation.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Sales Operations, Revenue Operations, Business Operations, Go-to-Market Strategy, or a related discipline, including significant leadership experience.

  • Proven experience leading Sales Operations or Revenue Operations within a B2B software-as-a-service or recurring-revenue business.

  • Strong knowledge of forecasting, pipeline management, bookings, quota attainment, territory and segmentation planning, funnel conversion, sales productivity, and executive reporting.

  • Demonstrated ability to build dashboards and reporting solutions directly, rather than solely managing teams responsible for developing them.

  • Strong Salesforce expertise, including opportunity data, forecasting processes, field governance, reporting, and data quality. Salesforce administration certification is not required, but the ability to work credibly with systems specialists is essential.

  • Hands-on experience with Tableau, Looker, Power BI, Salesforce reporting, advanced spreadsheets, or comparable business intelligence and reporting environments.

  • Experience developing KPI frameworks, source-of-truth models, standard operating procedures, reporting governance, quality assurance routines, and change-management plans.

  • Ability to operate effectively with imperfect data, incomplete processes, system limitations, and competing stakeholder priorities while continuously improving the underlying operating model.

  • Proven success leading transformation or build programs from current-state assessment through implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement.

  • Experience in a private-equity-backed or similarly fast-paced, high-growth environment is a plus, particularly where rapid organizational change and shifting priorities are common.

  • Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to connect operational metrics to revenue outcomes and broader business decisions.

  • Track record of developing analysts and operators into stronger, more strategic business partners.

  • Excellent executive communication skills, including the ability to turn complex data into concise narratives, recommendations, and clear actions.

  • Practical experience applying automation and artificial intelligence to improve reporting, analysis, workflow execution, or decision speed.

  • Strategic judgment combined with a willingness to work directly in operational and analytical details when required.

  • Ability to create clarity without perfect information, make thoughtful trade-offs under capacity constraints, and follow initiatives from problem definition through implementation, validation, adoption, and measurable outcomes.

  • Strong leadership, ownership, preparation, follow-through, collaboration, and change-management skills.

  • Must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States.

  • Must reside in an eligible U.S. state for employment: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, or Wyoming.

  • Flexible vacation policy that allows employees to take the time they need.
