Job description

Who is CareCar?

CareCar partners with healthcare organizations across the US to enhance outcomes and reduce risk, primarily through non-emergency medical transportation and home health services.

Our platform powers scheduling, dispatch, provider management, and benefit administration, using a dynamic marketplace model to connect patients with trusted care providers.

Expectations and Culture

In a fast-paced, mission-driven startup, we value people who take initiative, thrive on collaboration, and hold themselves to high standards. This person must be collaborative, resilient, and ready to help build an organization scaling quickly while remaining deeply connected to its purpose. You should be equally comfortable in strategy and in the weeds—one moment refining a budget forecast or creating an SOP, the next coaching a frontline manager or solving a service issue.

What You’ll Do
Operational Leadership

  • Oversee all operational teams and direct managers across CareCar’s service lines.
  • Develop and manage operational KPIs, SLAs, and performance dashboards.
  • Build, implement, and refine SOPs across departments.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow department heads and operational managers.
  • Create a high-performance culture centered on accountability and transparency.
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, and retention within the operations function.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Market Operations, and Network teams to ensure alignment and execution.
  • Serve as a key bridge between the COO and frontline teams, filling current leadership gaps.

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and execute strategic plans that align with company goals.
  • Monitor industry trends and adjust operational strategies accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Performance Management

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators to drive operational excellence.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience leading operations for a company with 200–1,000 employees.
  • Healthcare experience is required, ideally with exposure to provider operations, benefits administration, or health tech.
  • Experience designing and implementing SOPs and scaling operational processes.
  • Technical proficiency with Excel and Google Workspace, and exposure to tools like Tableau or Hashboard.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and comfortable rolling up your sleeves—a true player-coach.
  • Demonstrated success in building teams, driving performance, and navigating ambiguity.
  • A low ego, high integrity, and a scrappy, problem-solving mindset.
  • Full-time business hours, with some flexibility for evening/weekend leadership coverage as the team grows.

Preferred Experience / Nice to Have’s

  • Experience with transportation, gig economy platforms, or Medicare Advantage.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma or other operations methodologies.
  • Experience supporting geographically distributed teams.

What are the Key Early Actions (First 90–120 Days)?

  • Take ownership of operational KPIs and performance cadence
  • Free up the COO’s time by taking direct leadership of service teams
  • Create and implement missing SOPs and training workflows
  • Build trust and alignment with cross-functional leaders
  • Support and coach frontline leaders to higher performance
