Job summary

Mimecast Limited is seeking a Sr. Director, HR Transformation & AI to shape how HR technology and data work together across the global organization. You will drive automation, data quality, and analytics, partnering with HR leadership and IT to implement scalable platforms.

You will lead a small technical team, define an enterprise AI roadmap for HR, and ensure governance, privacy, and bias controls while delivering measurable improvements to the employee experience and business outcomes.

Overview

Human Resources is looking for a Sr. Director, HR Transformation & AI to own how Mimecast’s HR technology and data ecosystem fits together. This product-minded, global leadership role connects the HR strategic roadmap to systems, tools, and analytics, driving continuous improvement and execution.

Reporting to the SVP, Global Total Rewards & HR Technology, you will lead a small technical team, including the Director, HR Technology, across the HR strategic roadmap, HRIS, AI, and people data. You will shape how HR’s systems and AI capabilities work together to make HR more automated, AI-enabled, and metrics-forward.

Success means establishing a credible HR technology and AI strategy that the CHRO and HR Leadership Team use to prioritize investment, creating a more connected systems landscape, increasing automation and AI adoption, improving data quality and service, and building a people analytics capability that supports decisions across HR and the broader business.

What You'll Do

• Own how Workday, Visier, and future platforms fit together, including architecture, ownership, and sequencing, while the Director, HR Technology runs Workday day to day.

• Define the employee and HR-user experience the roadmap should deliver, rather than following a vendor feature list.

• Audit the HR toolset for redundancy and gaps, retiring, replacing, or consolidating tools where needed.

• Set architectural standards with IT for integrations, data flows, and security.

• Own the end-to-end AI roadmap for HR, identifying where AI can meaningfully change how work gets done.

• Partner with Legal, IT, and Security on responsible AI governance, including privacy, bias, transparency, and human-in-the-loop review.

• Lead people analytics strategy and standards, including the Visier build-out, as a trusted source of workforce, compensation, and pay-to-market data.

• Establish data governance standards for accuracy, security, and privacy across the HR landscape.

• Own an integrated HR technology and transformation roadmap, prioritized against HR Leadership Team priorities and managed with clear milestones, owners, and measures.

• Lead and develop a small technical team, and partner with the CHRO, HR Leadership Team, IT, Legal, Finance, and business leaders on systems, data, and AI decisions.

What You'll Bring

• Experience leading HR technology, people analytics, or HR transformation in an enterprise environment, including enterprise HCM exposure such as Workday or a comparable platform.

• A product mindset and a record of designing how an interconnected systems landscape should work, informed by enterprise architecture, integration, or technology portfolio management.

• Experience defining and driving an AI or automation roadmap, including HR data governance, privacy, and responsible AI frameworks.

• Fluency with people analytics platforms such as Visier, Power BI, or Tableau, and comfort working directly with data.

• Experience building and developing technical teams and turning ambiguous priorities into a sequenced, accountable roadmap.

• Strong stakeholder management and executive communication, including the ability to advise a CHRO and HR Leadership Team.

• A bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications

• An advanced degree in HR, data or information systems, or a related technical field.

• Experience working in a private-equity-backed business.

The base salary range for this position is 184,000 - 276,000 USD plus benefits. This range represents the minimum and maximum new hire compensation for this role. The position may also be eligible for incentive plans and additional benefits, in accordance with company policy and local regulations. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location with individual compensation also dependent on factors such as qualifications, experience, and skills. Final offers will reflect these considerations and may vary accordingly.
