Job summary

BD is seeking a Senior Director of Finance for Global Pharmacy Automation in Durham, NC. You will partner with the BU President, shape multi-year and annual financial plans, and drive financial performance across a $0.6B business.

This role requires senior leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and expertise in GAAP and financial modelling. You will guide strategic initiatives, support M&A activity, develop key metrics, and deliver timely insights to influence decisions and improve outcomes

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Business or Accounting; MBA or CPA certification preferred.
• 15+ years of accounting/financial analysis in a multinational setting; healthcare exposure a plus.
• Proficiency with SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and BPC.

Responsibilities

• Advise BU President and leadership on finance and strategy.
• Lead 3-year strategic plan, annual budget, and quarterly forecasts with models.
• Shape Global Pharmacy Automation strategies and align with objectives.
• Provide financial insights to drive better business decisions and outcomes.
• Support acquisitions, divestitures, licenses and product development financially.
• Collaborate with the President to publish KPIs and regular performance reports.
• Present and interpret financial data to Pharmacy Automation LT.
• Participate in S&OP to align demand, supply and projections.
• Lead Finance/Accounting teams and drive process improvements.

The Sr. Director of Finance, Global Pharmacy Automation position is a leadership role within BD MMS and reports directly to the VP of Finance for MMS business. This leader will serve as a finance business partner to Global Pharmacy Automation President and will be responsible for the management of all finance activities of the $0.6B Global Pharmacy Automation business. The core responsibilities will include providing sound financial guidance to the leadership team; providing relevant and timely financial information for effective decision making; leading financial planning and reporting processes; delivering value-added analysis; supporting new product development; being a core member of a team working on agreements with 3rd parties. The individual should have a demonstrated track record of contributions leading to improved financial performance, heightened productivity and enhanced internal controls.

• Key advisor and business partner to BU President and BU leadership team
• Lead the development of the 3-year strategic plan (ASR), annual budget, quarterly forecast. Develop new and enhances existing underlying supporting financial models
• Contribute to the formulation and implementation of Global Pharmacy Automation strategies and critical objectives. Ensures alignment of priorities with short- and long-term business objectives.
• Provide proactive financial input on performance including reported financials, underlying business, and operational factors. Strives to provide financial insights and recommendations that lead to effective business decisions and improvements in business and financial outcomes.
• Support new business development including acquisitions, divestitures, licenses and product development to ensure that they make sound financial sense.
• Work with Global Pharmacy Automation President to establish key performance metrics. Develop and publish regular reporting to track results and progress against goals/KPIs.
• Present, analyse, and interpret relevant financial data to Pharmacy Automation LT.
• Participate in the S&OP process to ensure alignment between demand, supply and financial projections for Global Pharmacy Automation.
• Assist in providing leadership to Finance and Accounting teams, developing and championing change to processes, people and systems as needed.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• 15+ years progressive experience in Financial Planning, Business Analytics, Controller, or related roles
• Demonstrated ability to form, lead and develop a Finance team.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, finance principles and internal controls.
• Ability to work with all levels of management.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, and ability to present material and complex matters in a concise and organized manner.
• Excellent financial modelling and project management skills.
• Continuous Improvement mindset.
• Humility combined with Leadership Courage.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively work across various functions to ensure deliverables are met against required timelines.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in real time and exercise judgment in high-stakes environment.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION

• Undergraduate Degree in Business or Accounting plus an MBA or CPA certification
• 15+ years of relevant accounting and financial analysis experience within a multinational business. Prior experience in Healthcare industry a plus.
• Strong system/application skills: SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, BPC
• Candidate willing to travel up to 25%
• Located in Durham NC or withing driving distance to enable 4 days in the office
