Job description

Hybrid/Lewisville, TX

Perm Role

Our client is seeking an experienced, business-minded leader to build and run their Decision Intelligence & Data Products organization.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a fast-moving, innovative team that enjoys strong partnerships across the business—our data is in high demand, and leaders across the company are eager to use it to make faster, better decisions.

We’re looking for a true go-getter who can turn trusted data into shared meaning, certified data products, and insights that change how the business operates.

This role owns two of the five pillars of the client’s Data, Analytics & AI organization: Meaning (the semantic layer, data products, and AI context) and Analytics & Decision Intelligence (BI, analytics, and decision services).

Reporting to the Vice President, Data, Analytics & AI, the Sr. Director will define one set of business metrics for the enterprise, deliver certified data products that people and AI agents can rely on, and lead the analytics and BI teams that put those insights in the hands of operations, finance, marketing, and customer experience leaders.

The role partners closely with Data Platform & AI Enablement, Transformation, and Data Governance to deliver trusted, AI-ready intelligence at enterprise scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and deliver the strategy and roadmap for analytics, BI, and decision intelligence, aligned to business priorities and measurable outcomes.
  • Own the enterprise semantic layer and KPI dictionary—one definition of each business metric, managed as code and consumed consistently by Power BI, self-service users, and AI agents.
  • Lead the retirement of legacy OLAP cubes onto certified cloud data.
  • Establish the data product operating model.
  • Define, build, and certify enterprise data products with clear owners, data contracts, quality SLAs, and documentation.
  • Build the context layer that grounds AI—business definitions, knowledge graphs, embeddings, feature stores, and RAG-ready data products—in partnership with AI Engineering.
  • Lead certified reporting and dashboards on Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Drive report rationalization and enable self-service analytics with guardrails, including a certified sandbox and a publish gate to production.
  • Own Fabric and Power BI capacity, workspace standards, publishing controls, performance, and cost, in partnership with the Data Platform team.
  • Deliver predictive and prescriptive analytics, experimentation, and decision services and APIs that are embedded in operational workflows and agentic systems.
  • Partner with operations, finance, marketing, HR, and customer experience leaders to identify high-value decisions, prioritize the portfolio, and measure business outcomes and ROI.
  • Partner with Data Governance & Quality to apply certification standards, lineage, access controls, and responsible AI practices to every data product and insight.
  • Drive adoption of certified data products and analytics through enablement, training, and change management so the business uses what the team builds.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team of data architects, data product managers, analytics engineers, and BI developers, with a culture of quality, ownership, and business impact.

Requirements:

  • Deep experience with dimensional modeling, metrics layers, and semantic models (e.g., Snowflake semantic views, Power BI semantic models, Cube, AtScale, or dbt/Coalesce-based metrics).
  • Proven ability to run data as a product—ownership, contracts, SLAs, versioning, and adoption measurement.
  • Expert knowledge of Power BI and Microsoft Fabric, including DAX, capacity management, security, and performance tuning.
  • Strong grounding in statistics, forecasting, experimentation, and applied machine learning, and in turning models into decisions.
  • Working knowledge of how data grounds AI—RAG, embeddings, knowledge graphs, LLM evaluation, and agentic workflows.
  • Hands‑on familiarity with Snowflake and Azure data services, SQL, and modern data transformation tools.
  • Ability to understand multi‑site service operations, financial drivers, and customer experience, and translate them into metrics and decisions. Automotive, insurance, or collision repair experience is a plus.
  • Strong ability to explain complex data simply, influence senior leaders, and tell a clear story with data.
  • Proven ability to drive adoption, retire legacy reporting, and move an organization to a single source of truth.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, data science, information systems, business analytics, or a related field; a master’s degree (MS or MBA) is a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, data products, or data architecture, including 5+ years leading multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Track record of delivering an enterprise semantic layer or KPI program and certified data products at scale.

Certifications (preferred – one or more relevant certification):

  • Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate or Power BI Data Analyst Associate
  • SnowPro Core / SnowPro Advanced (Data Analyst or Architect)
  • DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or Certified Analytics Professional (CAP)
  • Azure AI Engineer or other AI / machine learning certifications are a plus
