National Life Group is seeking a Sr. Director, Corporate Accounting to lead the Controller’s organization, ensuring accurate GAAP and statutory reporting for the company.

You will oversee leases, fixed assets, payroll accruals, intercompany activity, and related accounting processes with a focus on accuracy and strong internal controls. The role emphasizes leadership development, accountability, and building a high‑performing team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• 16+ years of related experience.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Experience leading accounting professionals.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial close, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
• Oversee corporate accounting activities, including fixed assets, leases, payroll, accruals, intercompany activity, and reconciliations.
• Establish roles, performance expectations, and development plans for the team.
• Ensure GAAP and statutory reporting accuracy and timeliness.
• Support auditors, regulators, and stakeholders with information and explanations.
• Drive ERP and automation initiatives to improve efficiency.
