Prime Therapeutics is seeking a Sr. Director of Actuarial Forecasting (Remote) to lead a high-impact team of actuaries. You will drive strategic pricing direction, oversee forecasting assumptions, and collaborate with Finance and other departments on product costs and pricing strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Actuarial Science, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field; equivalent experience.
  • 10 years actuarial work experience, 5 of those years in healthcare or the PBM industry.
  • 7 years of leadership experience.
  • Actuarial designation (ASA or FSA).
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for work visa or residency sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Leads a team of actuaries to provide strategic pricing advice on structures and methodology using market research, financial projections, and complex actuarial modeling.
  • Collaborates with underwriters, client engagement, and senior leadership on RFPs and pricing/risk initiatives for various lines of business.
  • Engages with leadership to develop forecasting assumptions related to utilization, unit cost, design, and regulatory events.
  • Develops processes to ensure scalable, well-controlled actuarial work product.
  • Leads negotiations, presentations, and translates complex concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Manages department budget, staffing, performance, and development, aligning with Prime leadership.

Job Description

The Senior Director of Actuarial Services leads a team of actuaries responsible for providing strategic pricing direction and thought leadership to Prime’s existing and potential clients and through the creation and use of innovative actuarial modeling concepts. This position will provide direct oversight of pricing processes and recommendations. This position works directly with Finance and functional departments on current and projected product and transactional costs and pricing strategy, as applicable.


Responsibilities


  • Leads a team of actuaries to provide strategic pricing advice on structures and methodology using market research, financial projections, and complex actuarial modeling

  • Collaborates with underwriters, client engagement, and senior leadership on RFP process and other pricing and risk management initiatives related to various lines of business

  • Engages with functional leadership to develop and maintain forecasting assumptions related to utilization, unit cost, benefit design, and regulatory events

  • Develops processes to ensure scalability and effective control of work product following actuarial standards of practice

  • Leads negotiations and presentations and translates highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences

  • Manage department budget, staffing, performance and development, and consistently demonstrate Prime’s leadership expectations during interactions with direct reports, cross functional and external stakeholders

  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Actuarial Science, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; High school diploma from an accredited school or equivalent GED required

  • 10 years of actuarial work experience, 5 of those years being within healthcare or the PBM industry

  • 7 years of leadership experience

  • Actuarial designation (ASA or FSA)


Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for work visa or residency sponsorship


Additional Qualifications


  • Excellent quantitative, problem solving, and analytical skills

  • Ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously without compromising quality

  • Strong client consulting presence; ability to distill complex material into easy to understand presentations, effectively respond to questions and engage a variety of audiences

  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders across the organization


Preferred Qualifications


  • Master's degree or credentialed equivalent

  • Experience in identifying, designing, recommending, and implementing efficient, innovative business solutions to clients’ complex pharmacy benefit challenges

  • Strong understanding of pharmacy plan design

Potential pay for this position ranges from $164,000.00 - $279,000.00 based on experience and skills.
