Job summary

Moody's Investors Service is seeking a Senior Director, Banking Strategy - Prospecting to shape the medium-to-long term vision for Growth and Prospecting within the Banking Business Unit. You will translate market insights into measurable business outcomes and coordinate across product, engineering, data, advisory, partnerships, go-to-market and sales.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated base salary range is $198,300 to $287,550, with incentive compensation and a comprehensive benefits

Skills and Competencies
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in banking, financial services, consulting, product strategy, or commercial leadership roles, with deep expertise in customer prospecting, market intelligence, business development, or data-driven customer acquisition, gained within financial institutions and/or banking solution providers
  • Experience leading customer discovery and senior client conversations, and converting insights into differentiated value propositions and investment recommendations
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence diverse cross‑functional stakeholders, aligning teams behind a shared strategic vision and coordinating execution to deliver measurable business outcomes in complex environments
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal savvy, with the ability to articulate compelling strategic rationale to diverse audiences
  • Proven ability to prioritize, multi‑task, and manage multiple complex bodies of work with meticulous attention to detail and a collaborative, team‑oriented approach
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work and think both independently and strategically, including within varying degrees of ambiguity in a fast‑paced environment
  • Deep expertise in artificial intelligence, with a track record of implementing advanced AI solutions to drive strategic transformation and operational efficiency. Strong experience using AI tools to lead innovation initiatives. Demonstrated leadership in managing AI‑related risks, ensuring ethical governance, and fostering a culture of responsible AI adoption across the organization

  • Relevant academic qualifications required; an advanced degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field is preferred
Responsibilities

The Senior Director, Banking Strategy - Prospecting owns the medium‑to‑long term vision and strategy for the Growth and Prospecting domain within the Banking Business Unit, translating market insights into measurable business outcomes.

  • Define and maintain the medium‑to‑long‑term vision, strategic direction, and priorities for the Growth and Prospecting domain, aligned with Banking growth goals and the Grow/Win/Monitor/Optimize customer lifecycle
  • Develop deep understanding of prospecting workflows, personas, jobs‑to‑be‑done, customer pain points, target customer profiles, and differences across segments and bank tiers
  • Lead market assessment and segmentation, including market trends, regulatory developments, emerging technologies, customer needs, and competitive dynamics
  • Translate customer and market insight into a clear domain strategy, strategic use cases, value‑chain opportunities, and recommended future‑state positioning for Moody's
  • Lead domain‑level build, partner, or buy assessments and shape investment priorities, business cases, and resource recommendations
  • Partner with Product Strategy to convert domain priorities into differentiated propositions and high‑level solution direction
  • Coordinate execution across Product, Engineering, Data Estate, Advisory, Partnerships, Go‑to‑Market and Sales, Finance, and other Moody's businesses; surface dependencies and resolve strategic misalignment
About the Team

The Banking Commercial Strategy team is responsible for the core business strategy of the Banking Business Unit at Moody's Analytics, including the communication of strategy, achievements, and key business information across the unit. The team holds decision‑making and lead actor responsibilities for commercial and domain strategy, enterprise resource management, and reporting. By bringing both strategic breadth and domain focus, the team enables our product, sales, and delivery organizations to execute with clarity and confidence. By joining our team, you will work at the heart of one of Moody's most dynamic and impactful business units, helping to shape how leading financial institutions identify, understand, and engage the right prospects — powered by Moody's data, analytics, and AI‑driven capabilities.

For US‑based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is$198,300.00-$287,550.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full‑time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
