As a key contributor, the Senior Platform Engineer be responsible for building, maintaining, and evolving the core platform that enables rapid, reliable, and secure software delivery on Azure. This involves optimizing CI/CD pipelines, containerizing applications, implementing robust monitoring, and fostering a culture of automation and collaboration with development teams to enhance system health and accelerate innovation.

In this role you will…

• Operate, monitor, and continuously improve Azure DevOps multi-stage YAML pipelines (build, test, deploy) across development, QA, UAT, and production environments. You'll spend your days monitoring pipeline runs, triaging failures, reviewing and merging pull requests, and tuning build agents for faster cycle times.
• Maintain and extend Azure Blueprints/Bicep (or Terraform) definitions for critical Azure services like App Services, Function Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, SQL, Networking, and Key Vault. You'll update these modules weekly for new services or policies.
• Design and implement sophisticated blue/green or canary release workflows, integrating automated quality gates, security scans, and robust rollback mechanisms. You'll run post-deployment validations and manage blue/green traffic shifts weekly.
• Lead the migration of existing .NET/Angular workloads to Docker, establishing Azure Container Apps or AKS, and creating Helm charts (or alternatives) with strong cluster governance. Expect to containerize legacy services and push images to ACR on a weekly basis.
• Develop comprehensive dashboards and alerts in Application Insights, Log Analytics, and other reporting/alerting platforms to ensure optimal pipeline and runtime health. You'll respond to alerts and remediate infrastructure issues daily.
• Partner closely with feature teams and external consultants, evangelizing DevSecOps best practices, documenting standards, and mentoring developers. You'll host "office hours" weekly to coach development teams on pipeline best practices.
• Perform monthly pipeline health and metrics reviews (lead time, MTTR, deploy frequency), execute disaster-recovery/fire-drill runbooks, and refine automation gaps. You'll also implement security scans and rotate secrets monthly.
• Evaluate and prototype platform upgrades, such as AKS cluster hardening, Helm charts, and GitOps tooling, presenting roadmap updates to leadership on CD progress and cost optimizations monthly.
• Perform other duties as assigned, based on competency and capabilities.
  
  

You would be great for this role if you…

• Have 4+ years of hands-on CI/CD engineering in Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, specifically with multi-stage YAML.
• Possess strong scripting skills in PowerShell and Bash, along with solid Infrastructure as Code skills using Azure Blueprints, Bicep, ARM, or Terraform.
• Have production experience with Azure PaaS (App Services, Function Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, SQL).
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of Docker fundamentals and the image lifecycle.
• Have a solid understanding and experience with container orchestration (i.e., Kubernetes) and associated tools and technologies.
• Have a proven track record of designing reliable, zero-downtime or blue/green deployments.
• Are familiar with .NET build pipelines and node/Angular build chains.
• Possess working knowledge of monitoring/alerting stacks such as App Insights, Log Analytics, Grafana, or similar.
• Exhibit excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex infrastructure topics for both developers and executives.
• Have a deep understanding of Agile methodologies, including backlog management, sprint planning, and effective team collaboration.
• Are analytical and possess problem-solving skills to tackle complex technical challenges and provide robust solutions.
