Job summary

Cheney Brothers, Inc. is seeking a Senior Developer II to mentor a small team and oversee development projects for custom business applications and reports.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders, IT management, and other developers to guide projects to completion, propose technology improvements, and deliver well-documented solutions that meet business needs while enforcing coding standards. The role emphasizes leadership in design, documentation, and collaboration across departments

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of MIS/CS or related field experience.
• Experience mentoring developers and delivering enterprise software solutions.
• Ability to develop design documents, functional requirements, and test plans.

Position Purpose:

The primary role of the Sr Developer II position is to collaborate and mentor within a small team of developers and business analysts and to deliver and provide oversight to development projects for custom business applications and reports. This role will work directly with business stakeholders, IT management, and other developers to guide projects to completion, provide ideas for technology and process improvements, and deliver well-documented solutions that accommodate stakeholder and business process needs while ensuring that department and coding processes are followed.

Position Responsibilities:

• Mentor other developers to assist the team with tasks like, but not limited to, best practices, troubleshooting, estimation, testing and documentation
• Develop large scale enterprise solutions with high complexity
• Oversee development of design documents such as technical specifications, functional requirements, object modules, system test plans, technical and user documentation
• Work with other developers, project managers, architects, business analysts and other departments to develop new technology and expand into existing applications
• Research and propose new technologies and methodologies to improve development
• Lead Team Code Reviews
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
• Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
• 7 – 10 years Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
