Job Title: Senior Demand Planner
Job Description:

The Senior Demand Planner role supports the Customer Channels Group (CCG) division by applying sophisticated planning techniques to drive continuous improvement and maintain optimal inventory levels. This position is responsible for managing demand variability, ensuring favorable inventory outcomes aligned with financial plans. The role demonstrates data analysis and cross-functional teamwork to enhance customer order fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine demand forecasting and planning capabilities, ensuring alignment among all partners.
- Support product lifecycle management, including portfolio expansion, new item setup, product conversion, rationalization/discontinuation, and collaboration with key departments.
- Achieve and maintain inventory optimization plans, perform data analysis to identify risks and opportunities, and implement demand sensing techniques for timely adjustments.
- Drive continuous improvement, influence departmental metrics, and assess and mitigate risks for new product launches through proactive project participation and leadership.
- Maintain and implement strategic system planning processes, including stocking decisions, safety stock, order quantity assignments, forecast management, and replenishment lead time.
- Establish best practices and keep process documentation/task flows updated.
- Maintain, improve, or suggest enhancements to demand planning technology.
- Collaborate with IT to ensure system stability and execution of planning initiatives, and design, develop, and deploy automated workflows to increase efficiencies.
- Contribute to software and tool development, activate new functionality, and resolve break fixes.
- Perform routine reporting and operational execution activities, and train internal peers on the use of tools and processes.
- Provide leadership and support to co-workers, promoting positive communication and interaction, while supporting procurement, transportation, distribution, customer service, manufacturing, and portfolio management functions.
Key Proficiencies:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain/Logistics, Business Management, or a related field.
- 4+ years of senior-level experience in distribution operations, inventory management, forecasting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in SQL and proven experience in analyzing large datasets and turning them into actionable insights.
- Understanding of planning systems and their effects on inventory and service levels.
- Demonstrated passion for improvement, self-motivation, and the ability to independently drive successful execution of initiatives with a high bias for action.
- Agile, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging environment with a strong focus on achieving outcomes.
- Effective written and oral communication skills, coupled with a dedication to continuous learning and development.
- Ability to travel 5-10%.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of advanced planning systems (Logility), analytical tools (SQL Server, Power BI), Excel, and data warehouse.
- Forecast development experience using methods to account for trend, seasonality, and product life cycle changes.
- Experience in a fast-paced, multi-location distribution environment.
