Job Description

As a Demand Planner for L3Harris, you will play a critical role in supporting the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process across one or more manufacturing sites. Your primary responsibility will be to serve as the main point of contact for gathering and tracking demand data from various sources to be used in decision‑making for future planning processes. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to consolidate demand information, including firm Sales Orders and speculative demand such as New Business, Follow‑On, Customer Options, Repair and Return MRO, and Engineering IRAD, while developing forecasts for commercial contracts and customers.

Your role will be instrumental in creating a comprehensive demand plan that spans the next 18‑24 rolling months, ensuring alignment between demand and supply plans across the organization. This role will be critical in the execution of the monthly demand reviews, as the data collected, presented, and agreed to will feed the overall SIOP cadence and cycle.

Essential Functions
  • Act as the primary liaison between multiple sites and cross‑functional teams to gather and consolidate demand data.
  • Collect and analyze demand inputs, including Sales Orders, customer forecasts, market trends, and historical sales data.
  • Assist in developing reports and metrics that track and monitor all goals and objectives related to demand planning, forecasting, and SIOP execution.
  • Collaborate with Business Development, Program Management Office, and Engineering teams to understand customer requirements, market dynamics, and upcoming opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain an accurate demand plan that encompasses the next 18‑24 rolling months, incorporating inputs from internal stakeholders and external factors.
  • Monitor and track demand changes, proactively identifying potential risks and opportunities for adjustment.
  • Prepare for and lead SIOP meetings to review and adjust demand plans based on business priorities, market conditions, and operational capabilities.
  • Communicate demand forecasts and related insights to stakeholders across the organization, providing recommendations for inventory management and production planning.
  • Adapt to changing business needs and embrace new technologies and tools to improve demand planning processes.
  • Lead and influence others without direct authority, driving alignment and consensus.
  • Thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness of demand planning processes across multiple sites.
  • Flexibility to travel occasionally to different sites as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Relevant experience in planning, operations, manufacturing, or supply chain.
  • Proven experience in demand planning or a similar role within the aerospace and defense industry, preferably supporting multiple sites.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) processes and principles.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, specifically Deltek Costpoint, particularly in demand management and inventory management modules.
  • Understanding of supply chain principles and best practices, including inventory optimization and risk management.
  • Proficiency in demand planning software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
  • Detail‑oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in data analysis and reporting.
Preferred Additional Skills
  • Degree(s) in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related technical discipline is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of aerospace and defense industry regulations, market dynamics, and customer requirements is a plus.
  • Experience in collaborating with a Program Management and Engineering centered organization to support IPT requirements.
  • Proficiency in utilizing MRP systems and related planning tools.
  • Demonstrated expertise in master scheduling, capacity planning, production planning, and inventory management.
  • Proactive and results‑oriented approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the organization.
