Job summary

Littelfuse is seeking a Senior Debug Engineer to identify, analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex product and system issues. Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in debugging, failure analysis, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, test engineering, or related technical roles.
  • Experience in manufacturing, electronics, automotive, industrial, semiconductor, or technology environments preferred.
  • Strong understanding of troubleshooting methodologies and data-driven problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and diagnose product failures, defects, and performance issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis using established methods (5 Whys, Ishikawa, FTA, FMEA).
  • Lead corrective actions and CAPA tracking to verify effectiveness.
  • Develop and improve debug procedures and knowledge-base documents.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, manufacturing, QA, and test teams.

The Senior Debug Engineer is responsible for identifying, analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex product, manufacturing, hardware, software, and system issues. This role works closely with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Test, and Operations teams to drive root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and improve overall product reliability, quality, and performance.

The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a methodical problem‑solving approach, and the ability to work across cross‑functional teams to resolve critical technical issues efficiently.

About Your Job:
Debug and Failure Analysis
  • Investigate and diagnose product failures, defects, and performance issues.
  • Perform systematic root cause analysis using established problem‑solving methodologies.
  • Analyze test data, logs, system reports, and failure symptoms to identify root causes.
  • Replicate reported issues in controlled environments for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Escalate complex technical problems to design and development teams when necessary.
Technical Troubleshooting
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, firmware, electrical, mechanical, and system‑level issues.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools, oscilloscopes, analyzers, debuggers, and test equipment.
  • Verify functionality and performance after corrective actions are implemented.
  • Support production and laboratory environments during issue resolution activities.
Root Cause and Corrective Action
  • Lead root cause investigations utilizing methodologies such as:
  • 5 Whys
  • Fishbone (Ishikawa) Analysis
  • Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
  • Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • DMAIC and Lean methodologies
  • Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Track issue closure and validate effectiveness of implemented solutions.
Process Improvement
  • Identify recurring failure trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop debug procedures, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge‑base documentation.
  • Recommend test enhancements to improve defect detection and prevention.
  • Support reliability and quality improvement projects.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with:
  • Product Engineering
  • Design Engineering
  • Manufacturing Engineering
  • Quality Engineering
  • Test Engineering
  • Operations Teams
  • Communicate technical findings through reports, presentations, and review meetings.
  • Support customer issue investigations when required.
About You:
  • 10+ years of experience in debugging, failure analysis, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, test engineering, or related technical roles.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, electronics, automotive, industrial, semiconductor, or technology environments preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Experience with root cause analysis techniques.
  • Ability to interpret:
  • Schematics
  • Engineering drawings
  • Specifications
  • Test procedures
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and test processes.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience using data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, Minitab, JMP, or similar.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Experience with automated test systems.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and process control.
  • Programming or scripting knowledge (Python, SQL, C#, or similar).
  • Understanding of reliability engineering concepts.
