As a Database Solutions Architect (SA), you will design complete solution architectures based on AWS database services.

Have you developed complex applications? Are you an experienced Oracle/SQL Server/NoSQL Platform Specialist? Have you worked on open-source database platforms like PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, Cassandra, or NoSQL? Have you migrated applications from one database engine to another? Would you like a career helping organizations understand and utilize cloud computing web services to innovate faster and cost-effectively?

The Database Specialist SA will collaborate with customers and partners on key engagements, supporting sales activities such as discovery, solutioning, presentations, education, deep dives, and technical support. You will develop proof-of-concept projects, technical workshops, and support application migrations from on-premise databases like Oracle/SQL Server to AWS services such as RDS, Aurora-PostgreSQL/MySQL, or other open-source platforms.

You will focus on customer solutions like OLTP/OLAP environments, designing and deploying data services, and influencing AWS database adoption.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide deep technical expertise to AWS customers to promote database service adoption.
• Collaborate with AWS teams to develop innovative solutions for complex business problems.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to customer executives on cloud transformation and data strategies.
• Lead architectural reviews and workshops on common use cases and best practices.
• Contribute thought leadership through blogs, white papers, and reference architectures.
• Present at industry events such as AWS re:Invent and AWS Summit.
• Educate customers on AWS data management solutions, ensuring production readiness.
• Provide feedback to AWS product teams and act as a primary contact for urgent issues.
• Stay current with emerging trends in databases, analytics, and GenAI technologies.
• Travel approximately 25%, mainly within the US, to support customer needs.

About The Team

Qualifications

Basic:

• 8+ years in relevant technology domains (software development, cloud, systems engineering, security, networking, data & analytics).
• 3+ years in application/infrastructure design, implementation, or consulting.
• 10+ years in IT development or related industries.
• Deep knowledge of at least one relational (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) or non-relational database (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB).

Preferred:

• 5+ years in infrastructure and database architecture, networking.
• Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.
• Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executives.
• Experience in a technical sales role and architecting solutions on AWS.
