Trissential, LLC is seeking a Senior Database Administrator (Oracle & SQL Server) to join an OT DBA team supporting critical infrastructure and regulated systems. You will manage databases across Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB, handling backups, performance tuning, DR, and automation.

The role offers a hybrid work model (Minneapolis, MN) with on-site and remote days, and opportunities to influence architecture and data governance across high-stakes environments.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years of hands-on Database Administration experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong Oracle DBA experience including backup/recovery, tuning, business continuity.
• Strong SQL Server DBA experience with backup/recovery, tuning, continuity.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and support databases across development, testing, and production environments.
• Analyze, test, implement, and optimize physical database designs to support business requirements.
• Administer Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB environments.
• Manage installations, upgrades, patching, migrations, and lifecycle activities.
• Perform backup and recovery to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Support business continuity and high availability initiatives.
• Monitor performance and optimize opportunities.
• Conduct audits and capacity planning recommendations.
• Maintain technical documentation and current patches.

Are you an experienced Database Administrator looking for an opportunity to support critical infrastructure and enterprise-scale database environments? Trissential is seeking a Senior Database Administrator (Oracle & SQL Server) to join our client's Operational Technology (OT) DBA team supporting Distribution, Transmission, Nuclear, and other regulated business systems.

Your Role & Responsibilities:

• Create, maintain, and support databases across development, testing, and production environments
• Analyze, test, implement, and optimize physical database designs to support business requirements
• Administer Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB database environments
• Manage database installations, upgrades, patching, migrations, and lifecycle activities
• Perform database backup and recovery activities to ensure data integrity and system availability
• Support business continuity, disaster recovery, and high availability initiatives
• Monitor database performance and proactively identify opportunities for optimization
• Conduct database environment audits and provide capacity planning recommendations
• Maintain technical documentation and ensure environments remain current with supported patches
• Develop and maintain automation solutions using PowerShell, Shell Scripting, KornShell, T‑SQL, and PL/SQL
• Partner with application support teams, developers, architects, technical managers, and system administrators
• Drive data governance, data integrity, and sound data management practices
• Utilize ServiceNow to manage operational requests, incidents, and support activities
• Participate in an on‑call rotation approximately every four weeks, providing seven‑day coverage
• Act as a subject matter expert and consultant on database-related initiatives, projects, and architecture discussions

Skills & Experience You Should Possess

• 5-8+ years of hands‑on Database Administration experience within enterprise environments
• Strong Oracle Database Administration experience including backup and recovery, performance tuning, and business continuity
• Strong SQL Server Administration experience including backup and recovery, performance tuning, and business continuity
• Experience supporting production, development, and testing database environments
• Expertise in database builds, patching, upgrades, migrations, and maintenance
• Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills
• Experience with database automation and scripting technologies
• Experience working with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools
• Excellent communication, relationship management, and collaboration skills
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities

Education & Certifications You Need

• Microsoft SQL Server certifications preferred
• Additional database administration certifications are highly desirable
