Early Warning Services, LLC is seeking a Sr. Data Specialist - Risk Management in a hybrid role across multiple U.S. cities.

The role supports the Enterprise Risk Management program and reports to the Senior Director, enabling robust risk controls and reporting. The candidate will lead projects, develop risk scorecards, and coordinate risk assessments, while working with cross-functional teams to implement governance and reporting across the three lines of defense.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management or a related field required.
  • Typically five or more years’ progressive risk professional experience; three or more within financial services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise risk management projects as delegated by the Senior Director of Enterprise Risk Management.
  • Maintain and develop Enterprise Risk Scorecards.
  • Develop, execute and report annual enterprise risk assessment and risk appetite statements.
  • Collaborate on KRIs and manage KRI performance reporting for top enterprise risks.
  • Coordinate risk assessments, including RCSAs and GRC updates.
  • Create and distribute risk-based management reports and ERM committee materials.
  • Prepare reporting decks and presentations (PowerPoint, Excel, dashboards).
  • Record risk data in the GRC application and maintain system reports.

Overall Purpose

The Sr. Data Specialist - Risk Management will support the Senior Director of Enterprise Risk Management in the execution, monitoring, and maintenance of the Company’s enterprise risk management program, including the three‑lines of defense.

Essential Functions
  • Lead various enterprise risk management projects as delegated by the Senior Director of Enterprise Risk Management.
  • Maintain and lead the on‑going development of Early Warning’s Enterprise Risk Scorecards.
  • Contribute to the development, execution, and reporting of the annual enterprise risk assessment, company risk appetite statement, and associated risk tolerances.
  • Collaborate with management in the design of Key Risk Indictors (KRIs) and manage KRI performance reporting process for each of the top enterprise risks.
  • Support the Risk Management team in the coordination of risk assessments, including RCSAs and GRC application updates.
  • Create and distribute risk‑based reports to management.
  • Support the production of all necessary reports to the ERM Committee, Risk & Security Committee, and the Management Committee.
  • Create, maintain, format, and update reporting decks and presentations (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, system dashboards, etc.).
  • Record risk data to the Company’s GRC application.
  • Create and maintain GRC system reports and, when necessary, assist with minor GRC system updates.
  • Support the company’s commitment to protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management or a related field required.
  • Typically, a minimum of five (5) or more years’ progressive risk professional experience; three (3) or more within the financial services industry.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with analytic and reporting tools, specifically Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, vlookup, power query, etc.) and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge and experience within a formal three‑lines of defense program.
  • Experience with standard risk management frameworks, concepts, and practices.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with and obtain support from others across an organization, including Product Development, Legal/Compliance, Operations, IT, and Accounting/Finance.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Background and drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional certifications in Risk, Audit, Financial Analysis, and/ or Strategic Disciplines, such as CPA, CIA, ARM, CERA, FRM, CRM, or CPCU preferred.

Physical Requirements

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Employee must be able to perform essential functions and physical requirements of position with or without reasonable accommodation.

The base pay scale for this position in: Phoenix, AZ/ Chicago, IL / Washington, DC in USD per year is: $84,000 - $105,000. Additionally, candidates are eligible for a discretionary incentive plan and benefits.
