Job description

Pay Range

The target pay range for this position is $125,700 - $153,600 annually. The full pay range is $97,400 - $181,800 annually. Compensation decisions are based on relevant skills, experience, and education. If offered employment, individual qualifications will be considered. In addition to salary, performance-based incentives are available, with targets varying by role.

Location Requirements

Candidates must reside in WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, or SC. WA residents near Tukwila are requested to come to HQ on Tuesdays & Wednesdays. Remote work is available for those outside the commute distance or in approved remote locations. We are committed to engaging and including all team members, whether remote or onsite.

Impact You’ll Make

As a Sr. Data Solutions Engineer on our Enterprise Data Management Team, you'll shape how BECU transforms data into actionable insights. You'll collaborate with internal teams and vendors to develop scalable BI solutions that enhance service to our members. Your work will enable smarter decisions, deeper insights, and thriving Business Intelligence tools.

This role involves streamlining ETL pipelines, optimizing dashboards and data models, and leading efforts in building BECU's data future. You will work with tools like Snowflake, Azure, Python, and Tableau, helping others realize the potential of the right data in the right hands.

Responsibilities
  • Lead BI Platform Strategy: Champion upgrades, enhancements, and long-term planning for BECU's enterprise BI tools.
  • Build & Maintain Data Models: Design and manage scalable data models to empower teams and unlock insights.
  • Partner Across Teams: Collaborate with ETL Developers, Data Architects, and Business Analysts to create technical solutions.
  • Manage Vendor Relationships: Oversee external vendor relationships supporting our data platforms.
  • Deliver BI Automation: Use tools like Orchestrator and Tableau to automate processes and improve efficiency.
  • Support Internal Users: Provide technical support and enablement for BI tools.
  • Monitor BI Impact: Track platform usage, gather feedback, and identify growth opportunities.
  • Communicate Effectively: Share platform updates and best practices across all levels.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 7 years in IT Database roles, with 5+ years in BI deployment, support, or DevOps
  • Experience defining and executing BI strategies and roadmaps
  • Hands-on with BI automation and visualization tools like Tableau and Orchestrator
  • Ability to articulate architecture vision to executives
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Databricks
  • Experience with Alteryx
  • Knowledge of data governance and enterprise BI environments
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms and integrations
