What You Will Do

1. Own delivery of large and/or complex data science and engineering projects
2. Lead in the development and testing of hypotheses across all functional data sets
3. Lead requirements gathering sessions with business and technical staff to distill technical requirements from business requests
4. Define and implement integrated data models, allowing integration of data from multiple sources
5. Design and develop scalable, efficient data pipeline processes for data ingestion, cleansing, transformation, integration, and validation
6. Define and implement data stores based on system and consumer requirements
7. Design and develop models to understand and solve complex business problems using data mining, statistical analysis, predictive modeling, stochastic modeling, pattern recognition, probability analysis, and network analysis
8. Design and implement production models leveraging technologies such as SAS, Python, and R
9. Leverage existing data sets and engineer new data sets, including SQL queries, data integration, and resolving data quality issues
10. Apply advanced understanding of Big Data systems to data set engineering and analytic model implementation
11. Lead reviews of analytic models and algorithms
12. Identify actionable insights, recommend strategies, and influence business decisions by communicating results effectively to cross-functional teams
13. Document and test analytic processes, including performance, data validation, and verification

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree or higher (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience in a related field
• Alternatively, 7+ years of experience in a related field in lieu of a degree

Salary Range

At Blue Cross NC, we offer a fair and competitive compensation package, typically starting near the middle of the listed range. Compensation is influenced by experience, skills, certifications, and organizational needs. Our total rewards include an annual incentive bonus, 401(k) with employer match, PTO, health benefits, and wellness programs.

Range: $100,500.00 - $182,700.00
