Senior Data Modeler
Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Data Modeler to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level data models that power business intelligence and analytics across the organization. This role requires a balance of technical depth and strong communication, as you’ll be working closely with non-technical stakeholders to ensure data solutions are understood and actionable. The ideal candidate is collaborative, clear in communication, and brings proven experience with enterprise data modeling in modern cloud environments.

This role is fully remote.

  • Design, develop, and maintain data models that support enterprise BI platforms across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective data modeling solutions.
  • Lead and manage data modeling projects with internal departments and external partners to ensure integrated, scalable solutions.
  • Document data models, maintain data dictionaries, and provide training to ensure usability across technical teams.
  • Establish and enforce technical standards, performance tuning practices, and documentation protocols for enterprise data systems.
  • Support the change control process for data systems, coordinating closely with technical and infrastructure teams.
  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting and guidance for complex data integration and modeling challenges.

Senior Data Modeler Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT development with a focus on data modeling.
  • Demonstrated expertise in data modeling concepts including dimensional models, star schemas, and source-to-target mappings.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, including stored procedures, functions, query optimization, and views.
  • Must have hands-on experience with Snowflake, Azure, and Microsoft SQL Server environments.
  • Skilled in data transformation tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Data Lake.
  • Proficient with source control systems like Azure DevOps, Git, or Subversion.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Expertise with data modeling tools such as Erwin, ER/Studio, Mural, or Swagger.
  • Prior experience collaborating with ETL developers to build data pipelines for reporting and analytics use cases.
  • Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau, SSRS, and Power BI is a plus.

Compensation: $70-$80/hr. (DOE)
