Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Data Engineer III to design and develop scalable data pipelines, performance-tuned SQL, and APIs for enterprise systems on a cloud-based data platform. This fully remote role requires US work authorization and residency in EST or CST time zones.

Responsibilities include leading data engineering efforts, mentoring staff, and supporting AI/ML initiatives in a fast-paced environment. Strong Azure, Fabric, Databricks, and Snowflake experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering or related experience.
• Strong expertise in SQL, Python, dbt, and or C#.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory or similar orchestration tools.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Fabric.
• Experience with Databricks or Snowflake is acceptable.
• Strong understanding of data modeling and ETL concepts.
• Experience with Git and version control best practices.
• Ability to work independently and solve complex problems.
• Background working in small or mid-sized environments with leadership experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

The Data Engineer III will lead the design and development of scalable data pipelines, integrations, and reporting solutions that power business-critical systems. This is a fully remote position. Compensation for the Sr. Data Engineer III:

• Salary range: $130,000 to $150,000, depending on experience
• Full benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k, and PTO, sick leave as required by law
