Job description

Join to apply for the Sr. Data Engineer_EMR Must_C2c/W2_Remote role at Chelsoft Solutions Co.

High-Level Individual Duties

Day to Day Responsibilities/typical day look like: Business Apps Integration Services / SQL Server / Workfront etc. as they enhance tracking, they need to get it back in the model.

Get data from different sources, bring it in, model the data (not heavy modeling).

  • Needs to know 3rd model form / contribute attributes.
  • Integration Services in SQL Server.

Understand sources profile data if the vendors (EMRs) don't give them harmonized data they will maintain / model. Doing STMs. Note this is not a full DW, it is app focused.

Monitor for failures on automation. If not automated, run manual text files if vendors cannot give data in a normalized fashion.

Source mapping. Reporting requests / charting is a big part of responsibilities, so we need an engineer who understands the business driver (specific to healthcare would be GREAT). They should know the term WIP (work in progress). This is a huge sticking point for leadership; they have to have analytical skills and ask more questions to drive how to build the data mart.

Questions to assess candidate experience:

  • What was your team size / structure and how did you work with the business?
  • Is 200 fields too much?
  • Is 200 columns in a table too much?
  • Of 1,000 widgets, where is each widget? What got done? Which reporting will you use?

Requests may be outcome and/or exception reporting. Understand sources and profile data for changes (a lot of existing sources but pull in new data for new use cases). Figure out target model and ensure existing models are clean. Maintain jobs (automated or not, make manual adjustments as needed). Normalize data, stage data, ingest flat files.

Ability to pull data from Snowflake (using GUI within Snowflake could work). Target mapping (building fields for reports based on needs from vendors). A little bit of data modeling. Understanding where to put index, etc.

Heavy reporting environment, understand business concepts, ROI, drivers for success, metric reporting for ops, "Work in Progress." Keys and relational data. Dig and play with the data, then connect with business to provide and solve reporting requests. Reporting team is heavily involved.

Required Skills :

  1. EMR experience with Epic, Athena, eClinicalWorks, Cerner/Oracle Health, MediTech, etc.
  2. ETL experience w/ SSIS for RDBMs, Flat Files, and NoSQL DBs.
  3. Strong Snowflake experience - utilize with SQL server to build views to support the reporting team (T-SQL, SQL, arrays, loops, etc).
  4. PowerBI Dashboard development.
  5. Comfortable with large data sets in Excel.
