Position Summary

Designs, builds, and maintains large-scale data infrastructure and data processing systems. Implements robust and scalable solutions to support data-driven applications, analytics, and business intelligence.

Required Qualifications
  • 5 years work applicable experience
  • Ability to collaborate closely with product, data analytics teams, and Epic analysts
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in complex, mission-critical healthcare environments
  • Experience designing real-time streaming pipelines and batch workflows
  • Strong hands-on experience parsing, transforming, and mapping HL7 v2/v3
  • Proficiency in building scalable data pipelines on Big Data Platforms and ETL/ELT workflows
  • Strong Python programming experience for data ingestion, transformation, and automation workflows
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years in senior or lead roles.
  • Expert-level skills in writing and optimizing complex queries (preferably across multiple databases - e.g., SQL Server, Snowflake, Postgres)
  • Solid knowledge of Apache Kafka (Kafka Streams, Schema Registry, Avro/JSON serialization)
  • Advanced experience building distributed data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and real-time/streaming jobs (Spark SQL, PySpark, Spark Structured Streaming)
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data quality, and governance in regulated environments (HIPAA, HITRUST)
  • Prior experience in healthcare IT, EMR/EHR systems (Epic preferred), and HL7/FHIR standards
  • Experience developing data integration services or custom connectors using Java/Kotlin, particularly for EMR/clinical system
  • Familiarity with Epic Interconnect APIs, Bridges, or other healthcare interoperability frameworks
  • Experience with Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP for data engineering workloads
  • Experience working on Databricks platform
Education

Bachelor's degree preferred/specialized training/relevant professional qualification. Computer Science or Equivalent Years of Relevant Experience

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is: $83,430.00 - $222,480.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
