Job summary

Dexian is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in Covington, KY, for a long term contract with extension. You will help build and optimize data solutions, pipelines, and database systems to deliver personalized customer experiences. Qualifications

• 5+ years in technology with 3+ years building data solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including documentation.
• Collaborative ability to work with multiple teams.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
• Systems analysis with legacy process decomposition and debugging/tuning/refactoring.
• Strong SQL skills; MySQL and Snowflake knowledge preferred.
• Hands-on ETL/ELT experience; Informatica a plus; Python for ELT pipelines.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, GitHub.

Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

Location: Covington, KY

Long term contract with Extension

We are seeking an expert Senior Data Engineer with a strong database background and passion for understanding and improving on our data to deliver outstanding customer experiences. You will be working in a collaborative team environment where you will have a wealth of opportunities to develop, innovate, advocate for how our software and data is best used, and improve our delivery. This is a fast-paced team that is passionate about designing, implementing, and maintaining a wide variety of processes, platforms, and products for our clients.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring:

• 5+ years in Technology with 3 years in developing and deploying data solutions

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including experience writing documentation

• Excellent collaboration skills to work with multiple teams in the organization

• Ability to deal with ambiguity and work in fast paced environment

• Systems analysis background with an emphasis on legacy process decomposition and debugging/tuning/refactoring

• Strong understanding of data analysis concepts and associated tools such as SQL, Python, Stored Procedure, etc.

• Experience building, maintaining, and tuning stored procedures, complex SQL queries.

• QA / Testing – must be highly proficient in QA and testing methodologies/concepts with a demonstratable level of expertise

• Comfortable working within an Agile framework

• Extensive experience with SQL required; knowledge of MySQL, Snowflake preferred

• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools and processes, particularly Informatica, or similar platforms, is a plus.

• Experience with Python for building ELT pipelines or other scripting languages.

• A passion to design and implement single and multi-tenant data solutions using various database design and data modelling techniques.

• Experience with CICD toolset such as Jenkins, Jenkinscore, Udeploy, Git, GitHub.

Any combination of the following is a plus:

• Hands-on experience with either Azure or AWS cloud concepts and fundamentals

• Experience building scalable and robust data solutions for websites using a range of technologies

• Business Intelligence development experience with tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, etc.

• Development using DevAssist tools
