Zscaler is seeking a Sr. Data Center Operations (DCO) Engineer for a remote role based in Houston, TX. You will deploy, maintain, and scale the critical physical server, network, and cabling infrastructure powering our global production data centers, reporting to the Director of Network Infrastructure.

You will triage hardware issues, coordinate with engineering teams and Remote Hands, manage tickets, and ensure asset tracking with up to 50% travel domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in production data center environments.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools, automation, or scripting to streamline data center operations.
  • U.S. citizenship required due to the customer base.
  • Deep technical understanding of servers, network hardware, optics, fiber and copper cabling.
  • Proficient with Linux/Unix CLI, BIOS configurations, and out-of-band management tools (iLO, iDRAC, IPMI).
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly.

Role

We are looking for a Sr. Data Center Operations (DCO) Engineer to join our Cloud Operations team. This is a remote role in Houston, TX, reporting to the Director of Network Infrastructure in the Network Infrastructure department. In this role, you will be instrumental in deploying, maintaining, and scaling the critical physical server, network, and cabling infrastructure powering our global production data center environments.

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Experience leveraging modern AI tools, automation, or scripting to streamline data center operational workflows and diagnostics
  • 5 or more years of experience working within production data center environments, with a proven track record engaging and directing remote data center vendors
  • U.S. citizenship, required due to the nature of the customers assigned to this role
  • Deep technical understanding of diverse server platforms, network hardware, optics, fiber plants, and copper cabling
  • Proficient with Linux/Unix command-line interfaces, BIOS configurations, and out-of-band management tools such as iLO, iDRAC, and IPMI
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly and regularly in support of physical infrastructure deployments

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range

$91,200 - $114,000 USD
