As a Senior Data Architect, you'll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by accelerating our data initiatives through modern technical solutions. You will fill a new role within the data team in the technology organization. Your colleagues will include scrum masters, data analysts, and professionals in Data, AI, Governance, and QA. Join our highly collaborative, innovative team.

How you'll help move us forward:

  • Plan, design, develop, optimize, and maintain data architecture, data models, and standards for various Data Engineering projects, supporting data and analytics requirements, ensuring scalability, performance, and data integrity.
  • Understand data needs, regulatory requirements, and business goals, translating these into effective data solutions.
  • Ensure new features and subject areas are modeled to integrate with existing structures and provide a consistent view.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of data architecture, data flows, and data models for various audiences to facilitate knowledge transfer and compliance.
  • Provide guidance on the adoption and maturation of Cloud technologies (AWS, Snowflake, etc.) and industry best practices in data warehouse architecture and modeling.
  • Collaborate with governance teams to establish policies and procedures for data usage, quality, and security, especially concerning regulatory and reporting requirements.
  • Act as an influential leader to drive business outcomes.
  • Be a strategic thinker with strong stakeholder management skills.

The experience you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field; Master's in Computer Science or Data Science preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience delivering end-to-end cloud-based modern data engineering solutions, including data modeling and enterprise data warehouses using Snowflake or similar platforms.
  • 10+ years of experience using SQL and knowledge of database objects such as stored procedures and materialized views.
  • Proven success in implementing data architecture patterns using industry best practices.
  • Proficient with multiple databases, including cloud and on-premise systems.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and facilitation skills.
  • Team-oriented with effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to breakdown complex data solutions.

What makes you stand out:

  • Experience in cloud environments and hybrid data architectures.
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps (ADO), CI/CD, and AWS technologies.
  • Proficiency with automation, orchestration, and scripting in data delivery environments.
  • Understanding of data catalogs, glossaries, data quality, and data governance.
  • Experience working in complex data systems.
  • Financial services or insurance domain knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Master Data Management.

Compensation:

  • Base salary depends on experience and location. Newport Beach, CA ranges between $144,000 - $176,000 plus annual bonus.
  • Omaha, NE ranges between $123,570 - $151,030 plus annual bonus.
