Job Description

Global Corporate & Investment Banking (GCIB) is enhancing its data management capabilities. Its teams in Data Steward and Data Architecture will play a pivotal role in driving the enhancement and ongoing sustainment of the data management program. This role requires a structured approach to managing risk and business enablement priorities from a data perspective, combining global and regional requirements. It involves partnering with stakeholders in GCIB and across the Enterprise to ensure regulatory adherence, improve GCIB's data architecture, strengthen data governance frameworks, and enhance operational excellence to meet GCIB's goal of being best-in-class.

The role covers key data management pillars: adherence to policies/standards, governance, data domains, managing data incidents/issues, delivering GCIB's data strategy roadmap and related initiatives, and supporting GCIB leadership in making informed decisions.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  1. Transform GCIB's data strategy into actionable plans and ensure successful execution.
  2. Responsible for executing the Data Steward team's role requirements and plans.
  3. Implement the data architecture program in partnership with GCIB Technology, Enterprise Data Architecture, and Lines of Business, ensuring successful implementation and sustainability.
  4. Conduct horizon scanning through regular reviews with business leaders, thematic reviews of data issues and incidents, and regulatory exam results to influence GCIB's data strategy and initiatives roadmap.
  5. Support the execution of responsibilities defined for GCIB data management roles in policy and standards, maintaining evidence of compliance.
  6. Engage regularly with stakeholders to review areas impacting GCIB data risks.
  7. Participate in audits, regulatory exams, and assessments.
  8. Establish and maintain a structured process to review GCIB processes for compliance with relevant requirements.
  9. Coordinate across GCIB product areas to ensure consensus on implementation approaches.
  10. Escalate program risks, partner with stakeholders, and develop mitigation solutions.
  11. Build strong relationships to navigate organizational complexities, gain buy-in, and resolve conflicts.
Key Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in data risk programs; experience in similar roles preferred.
  • Proven experience in data management roles.
  • Strong leadership qualities and a results-driven approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex data and technical concepts for executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment with high accuracy.
  • Passion for fostering a collaborative and team-oriented culture.
  • Experience handling complex global data issues and regulations.
  • Understanding of GCIB's business and products, with ownership of delivery.
  • Ability to operate independently and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including bankers, senior leaders, risk partners, and regulators.
  • Control-focused mindset with a good understanding of regulatory and reputational risks.

Hours Per Week: 40

Pay Transparency details

Locations: NJ - Jersey City, NY - New York

Pay range: $110,000 - $175,000 annually, based on experience, education, and skills.
