Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group has an immediate need for an Interim Sr. Cybersecurity Counsel.

Overview: Sr. Cybersecurity Counsel

Company: Global media and communications business based in Atlanta, GA

Experience: At least 6+ years relevant experience (with at least 3+ years of in-house experience desired).

Location: Remote (East Coast Hours)

Responsibilities Include:

• Support company’s data security incident response, including coordination with legal, engineering, IT, and security teams, responding to regulators, fixing breaches, managing procedures, etc.
• Negotiate and draft data sharing agreements, cyber-related NDAs, and cyber-specific agreements.
• Support the product team by advising on privacy-by-design strategies, data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and other privacy and data security compliance matters.
• Manage data security-related policies and processes.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers on product UI/UX, cybersecurity/architecture, legal disclosures, feature compliance, and data access/use/collection.
• Assist product team with review/revisions to technical documentation, customer-facing materials, and data security related press releases.

Qualifications Include:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed and in good standing with at least 1 US State Bar.
• 6+ years of legal experience, with at least 3 years in-house preferred.
• Strong experience in cybersecurity incident response a must.
• Expertise in global privacy regulations, privacy-by-design and data protection matters.
• Strong communication, coordination and collaboration skills.
• CIPP certification or similar privacy credentials preferred.
• Agility and execution focus in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Collaborative approach with cross-functional teams

Pay Range: $90-100/hr.
