Join NBCUniversal Cyber Security and help us design and implement security platforms and services that enable and protect our business experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Provide secure design and engineering guidance for security data collection, insights, and analytics.
- Onboard various data elements via a data streaming platform across NBCUniversal’s business entities.
- Ensure uninterrupted ingestion of critical systems data into threat detection, analytics, and response systems.
- Support teams relying on security data systems, sharing knowledge, and managing dashboards, alerts, and reports.
- Create and maintain documentation and diagrams, collaborating on processes and roadmaps.
- Support platform infrastructure for SIEM and endpoint implementations.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for system support outside of normal hours.
- Organize and meet deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years in Cybersecurity and data engineering, with expertise in Splunk.
- Deep understanding of SIEM security principles.
- Experience with automation, data processing, and security frameworks.
- 5+ years of Splunk architecture and administration experience.
- Familiarity with large security data solutions like AWS Security Lake, Data Bricks, Snowflake, Splunk.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of serverless services like AWS Lambda or Azure Functions.
- Proficiency in Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and microservices architecture.
- Collaborative attitude, integrity, and high ethical standards.
- Willingness to learn and iterate quickly.
- Experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or CodePipeline.
Desired Characteristics:
- Splunk Enterprise Admin or Architect certification.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of event-driven architecture and ML algorithms.
- Experience with rsyslog/syslog-ng, Datadog, Vector, Logstash, and configuration management tools.
- Experience in cyber asset monitoring and resolution.
