Job description

Overview

Coordinate, monitor, and maintain the Credentialing and Reappointment processes within the Centralized Credentialing Organization (CCO). Facilitate appointment, reappointment, monitoring, and privileging of MHMH Medical Staff Members and Allied Health Professionals, ensuring compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate all aspects of credentialing for the CCO, including appointment and reappointment of Medical Staff and Allied Health Professionals in accordance with policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines (TJC, NCQA, AAAHC, CMS, etc.).
  • Prepare files for review and maintain comprehensive practitioner database files, ensuring integrity and completeness of documentation.
  • Execute the medical staff and allied health privileging process following MHMH Bylaws, rules, and regulations.
  • Provide administrative, technical, and logistical support to the Medical Staff Credentialing Committee.
  • Prepare confidential or routine memoranda, letters, reports, meeting minutes, and other correspondence for the Department.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Management (preferred) or Healthcare Administration.
  • Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Required: 3‑5 years of credentialing experience. Substitutions allowed: high school diploma or equivalent with 8 years of credentialing experience.
Licenses & Certifications

Certified Professional Credentialing Specialist (National Association of Medical Staff Services) required.

Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency in Visual Cactus and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Strong knowledge of state regulatory requirements and accreditation standards (TJC, NCQA, AAAHC, CMS).
  • Typing speed of 55 words per minute with minimal errors.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical, deductive reasoning, and ability to prioritize, coordinate, and manage multiple tasks independently.
  • Experience with process improvement and workflow efficiencies.
Physical Demands

Occasional travel to other facilities and physician offices. Light physical work; may lift up to 25 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently. Requires concentrating on detailed tasks and maintaining visual acuity for extended periods.
