Job summary

Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, TX is seeking an experienced electrician to install, maintain, and repair experimental electrical equipment supporting national security projects. You will read blueprints, work with 3-phase motors, standby generators, and UPS systems, and collaborate with engineers and managers to plan layouts, installations, and field test setups

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensed Texas Electrician - Wireman or Journeyman.
• 5+ years: Residential or commercial Apprentice, Wireman or Journeyman Electrician.
• 2+ years: Experience troubleshooting electrical circuits, lights, relays and contactors. Familiar and knowledgeable in use of a voltmeter, motor rotation tester, and megger.
• 2 years: Experience working with EMT, RMC, IMC and able to bend conduit.
• 3+ years: Experience installing electrical panels, transformers and wire termination.
• A valid/clear driver's license is required.

Objectives of this Role
