A leading company is seeking a Sr. Coverage Counsel to join their National Claims Counsel team. This role involves providing legal opinions and strategies on insurance coverage issues, with opportunities for remote work. Our National Claims Counsel team is looking for Sr. Coverage Counsel to join our growing team. This position can be remote based or at one of our office locations.
Position summary:
Reporting to the Managing Claims Counsel Claims Legal, Sr. Coverage Counsel serves as legal counsel to Hanover’s claim organization, focused primarily on providing legal opinions, advice, and resolution strategies on coverage and extra-contractual issues arising from the company’s insurance policies and coverage positions.
This is a full-time, exempt role.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Primary responsibility is to research and provide legal advice and opinions to claims handlers on coverage issues arising from the company’s insurance contracts, including auto and general liability; specialty (e.g., management liability & professional liability); and first party property and marine coverages.
