SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Counsel, Labor & Employment Litigation to represent the company in a range of litigation matters focusing on labor and employment disputes in the United States and internationally.

The role requires managing all facets of litigation, conducting internal investigations, supporting discovery, and shaping strategy across cross-functional teams. Travel about 10% and bar admission in at least one state are required.

• At least 7+ years as a practicing attorney.
• Experience litigating labor and employment disputes.

SR. COUNSEL, LABOR & EMPLOYMENT LITIGATION

The Sr. Litigation Counsel position offers a unique opportunity to represent the SpaceX business in a variety of litigation matters, with a focus on labor and employment, both in the United States and internationally.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage all facets of litigation, with a focus on labor and employment disputes but with opportunities to expand your portfolio to include consumer, contractual, commercial, or other kinds of legal disputes
• Conduct internal investigations; support discovery efforts; draft and review discovery requests/responses, pleadings, and briefs; direct litigation strategy; and negotiate settlements
• Identify legal risks and mitigate them by designing and implementing controls

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• JD from an ABA accredited law school
• 7+ years of experience as a practicing attorney
• Experience litigating labor and employment disputes

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Experience leading litigation of labor and employment matters, including in court, arbitration, and administrative proceedings (e.g., EEOC, NLRB)
• Meaningful first or second chair trial experience
• Specialized knowledge of California labor and employment law (Texas, Florida, Washington State also helpful)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Prior experience-either in-house or through client relationships-representing high-growth companies
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with other business groups and/or clients
• Proven ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time
• Must be admitted to the bar, in good standing, in at least one U.S. State
• This position is based in Starbase, TX and requires being onsite - remote work not considered
• Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range:Level 4: $245,000.00 - $305,000.00

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
